 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.        Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, has volunteered a monthly allowance of N500,000 for the next twelve months, for the care of five babies – three boys and two girls – born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Obiefuna of Orile Iganmu, a suburb of the State. In her remarks during the visit to the mother at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital in Lagos, the First Lady thanked God for the safe delivery of the infants, expressed joy for the safe delivery and commended their mother for regularly attending her ante-natal sessions in a government hospital. She urged expectant mothers in the State to shun quacks and self-medication, but to register early and diligently attend ante-natal clinics for standard medical care. BUREAU DE CHANGE OPERATOR DOCKED TODAY FOR N20.6M FRAUD,REMANDED IN PRISON CUSTODY.{PHOTO}.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday May 22, 2018 arraigned a Bureau de Change operator from Mubi, Adamawa State, Isa Abdulkarim before Justice I.B Gafai of the Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State on a four count charge of obtaining the sum of N20.650,000.00 (Twenty Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only) under false pretences.   Abdulkarim’s troubles start ed sometime in November 2017, when he falsely represented himself as being capable of purchasing an equivalent of N20.6 million in Cameroonian CFA from the complainant’s client but absconded with the money to Republic of Chad without purchasing the said foreign exchange. He was arrested after efforts in retrieving the said money failed. However, investigations revealed that the money was actually transferred to his Diamond Bank account. Abdulkarim pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read and interpreted in Hausa language to him, prompting his counsel ,C.N Ekwueme to move

       The Lagos State Head of Service, Mrs. Folashade Adesoye has said that steps are currently being taken to ensure that the Rent-To-Own Scheme of the State Government eases the accommodation problem confronting employees in the Civil Service. Adesoye disclosed this on Tuesday at the ongoing annual Ministerial Press Briefing to mark the third anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration held at Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa She stated that efforts are in top gear to review the Staff Quarters Manual to further strengthen the basis of the relationship between the Government and occupiers of the Staff Quarters. Adesoye gave assurance that her office will not rest on its oars until affordable housing units are provided for members of staff, just as she expressed optimism that the Rent-To-Own Scheme would create a veritable platform for Public Servants to benefit maximally from this mortgage scheme at a subsidised rate.       Today The Duke of Cambridge attended the Manchester Arena National Service of Commemoration at Manchester Cathedral, marking one year since the attack on Manchester Arena. The multi-faith service remembered those who lost their lives in the tragedy, and was attended by the bereaved and survivors. It also gave thanks to emergency workers who assisted on the ground and in the aftermath of the attack.

     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 arraigned one Muhammed Ibrahim Tukur before Justice Emeka of the Federal High Court Kaduna, on 3 count charge bordering on forgery and obtaining by false pretence.   The accused is facing prosecution following a transaction he carried out in 2016 after selling a plot of land which the documents attached were forged and fake.  The Complainant stated that the accuse d had accosted him with documents of property situated at No. 4 Sambo Kwassalo Road, Gaskiya Layout Zaria Kaduna State with Certificate of Occupancy No. KD 9411 which he claimed ownership. The land was advertised to prospective buyers of which one Alhaji Ibrahim indicated interest and negotiations were made.       Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode   on Tuesday   approved the construction of a flyover bridge at the Fagba intersection to ease the perennial traffic gridlock and reduce travel time within the axis. Governor Ambode approved the construction of the Fagba Flyover Bridge after an inspection of the ongoing construction of Pen Cinema Flyover Bridge, where he observed the need to holistically address the traffic gridlock around Agege-Iju axis to make Pen Cinema Flyover Bridge more effective.      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, today May 22, 2018, arraigned the duo of Adebunmi Raheem Adisa and Leye Adisa before Justice A. N. Akintola of the Oyo State High court sitting in Ibadan on 9-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing, forgery and obtaining money under false pretence.   The petitioner (name withheld) alleged that on 29th September, 2016 the defendants sold a plot of land to him with  an uncompleted building located at plot 7 & 8 Akinsola Layout, off Olorunda Abba Road, Kanku, Onikokoro, Ibadan, Oyo State. NIGERIAN TROOPS NAB ARMED BANDITS IN TARABA STATE.{PHOTOS}#PRESS RELEASE.

       Troops of Sector 3 deployed under the auspices of Operation WHIRL STROKE while on patrol yesterday came in contact with armed bandits along road Manya - Gangun in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State and 8 armed bandits were arrested. Items recovered include; 2 AK 47 rifles, one K2 rifle, 2 Dane guns, 56 rounds of 7.62 special ammunition, 25 K2 rounds, 3 cartridges, charms and phones.
