 Allow court decide Bello’s fate, media office tells EFCC The media office of the former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said the court was yet to prove the allegations made against the embattled former governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Bello’s media office director, Ohiare Michael, on Friday, adding that the former governor did not pay the fees of his children with monies from the coffers of the Kogi State Government. On Tuesday, the Chairman of the EFCC at a press conference, alleged that Bello withdrew $720,000 from a government account to pay his children’s school fees in advance.  DSS raises alarm over planned attack on religious, recreation centres The Department of State Services has raised the alarm of planned attacks on worship and recreational centres before and during Eid Kabir celebrations. According to the service, the recovery of Improvised Explosive Devices from terrorists in joint operations by the service, personnel of the Nigerian Army and Police laid credence to the planned attack. Cybersecurity expert testifies in Obi’s petition against Tinubu The Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi on Thursday fielded more witnesses in aid of its petition at the Presidential Election Petition Court. The petitioners are protesting the outcome of the last presidential elections wherein the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Bola Tinubu as the elected president. Tinubu contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress. During the resumed hearing in the matter, Ugwuoke who was led in evidence by the petitioners’ counsel, Patrick Ikweato, SAN, insinuated that the Amazon Web Service could not have shut down as it was the responsibility of the service provider to be up and running. Osimhen Visits His Primary School In Lagos Nigerian professional footballer and Seria A Napoli club striker, Victor Osimhen, visited his primary school in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos.  Osimhen revealed this in a post on his Instagram page on Thursday. Osimhen who lived in Olusosun, a small neighborhood near Oregun attended Olusosun Primary School in the Ikeja area of the state.  The striker went to his former classroom, saw his old teacher, and took pictures with the present students of the school.  He wrote, "Oregun, thank you for the warm welcome. Nigerian Man Extradited To US Over Fraud Charges A 31-year-old Nigerian, Uchenna Christian Nlemchi, has been extradited to the United States to face fraud charges. This was made known by the United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, Alexander M.M. Uballez, and FBI Special Agent Raul Bujanda, in a statement on Thursday.  Nlemchi, who made his first appearance in a federal court in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 7 was extradited following an indictment by a federal grand jury in May 2017 charging him with conspiracy, wire fraud, counts of money laundering, aggravated identify theft, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Missing Titanic-bound submersible with five people on board has run out of emergency oxygen The Titanic tourist submersible that vanished on a trip to the 112-year-old shipwreck at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean is believed to have run out of oxygen with authorities still pushing forward with the search operation, according to New York Post,    OceanGate Expeditions, which operates the Titan sub and has its CEO Stockton Rush aboard the missing vessel, told the Coast Guard Sunday evening that the vehicle was equipped with only 96 hours of oxygen, with the timer running out around 7:08 a.m. Thursday morning. The status of the five passengers aboard the ill-fated trip remains unclear as US and Canadian officials work around the clock to attempt to locate the missing Titan sub 900 miles east of Cape Cod. SANWO-OLU GIFTS LASU’S BEST GRADUATING STUDENT N10M The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a reward of N10m to be given to the overall best-graduating student of the 2021/2022 academic session of Lagos State University (LASU), Aminat Yusuf. Aminat Yusuf graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.0 from the varsity’s Faculty of Law.  The Governor made the announcement at the convocation ceremony of the institution held in Ojo on Thursday. “As a token of her brilliance, I will be giving her a token donation of N5 million and the state government will give her an additional donation of N5 million”, Sanwo-Olu said. The beneficiary who stated that she experienced some serious financial constraints through her stay in the university, t thanked her parents for motivating and inspiring her to achieve the feat.

Tribunal: Tinubu, INEC kick as Peter Obi tenders total PVCs in 32 states 22nd Jun 2023 The Presidential Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja yesterday admitted in evidence a bundle of exhibits containing the total number of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, collected in 32 states of the federation before the 2023 general elections. Equally admitted in evidence by the Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-member panel, was a bundle of documents that contained the total number of registered voters in the states. The exhibits were brought before the court by the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi, who alleged that the presidential election held on February 25, was rigged in favour of President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Though Obi’s legal team was led by Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, the exhibits were, however, tendered through another senior lawyer in the team, Mr. Peter Afuba, SAN. The petitioners told the court that the exhibits were duly certified by the
