 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                          America commemorated the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks today sunday with emotional services of remembrance in New York,Washington and Pennsylvania to honor those who perished in the world's deadliest terror strikes.On September 11,2001,19 Al-Qaeda operatives crashed four passenger jets into the Twin Towers in Manhattan,the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville,Pennsylvania,killing nearly 3,000 people and changing the world forever.President Barack Obama said no words or deeds could ever truly erase the pain of loss,but urged Americans to stand true to the nation's ideals and not allow group like Al-Qaeda and IS to divide the country.''It is so important today that we reaffirm our character as a nation.Our diversity,our patchwork heritage,is not a weakness.It is still and always will be one of our greatest strengths''.-he told a remembrance service at the Pentagon.More photos below.

                          I sincerely rejoice with all Nigerians especially the Muslim faithful on yet another Eid-el-Kabir,which is both a period of sacrifice and obedience to divine guidance and a time to share our resources with our neighbours no matter how little.It is also a call on all of us to love one another,eschew all forms of violence,adhere strictly to the noble tenets of Islam and peaceful coexistence.We must not relent in being our brothers keeper and playing our part to achieve the New Nigeria of our dreams Truly,times are tough,but we are a tough people too.Therefore,I have no doubt that we shall overcome our present economic setback sooner than anticipated,if we all commit to the ideas of nation building.I also enjoin everyone of us to contribute in strengthening the bond of unity and oneness that exists among us.This,I believe,will spur us to avoid negative tendencies that could derail our efforts at ensuring faster economic revival and socio-political stability.

                            A driver with the EFCC,Nasiru Isa,has been arrested by operatives of the agency for offences bordering on criminal breach of truth,attempted theft,conspiracy and impersonation.The driver,who joined the Commission about 18 months ago,is a member of a criminal syndicate that attempted to break into a sealed property by the EFCC,with the intent of carting away goods suspected to be proceeds of money laundering.The syndicate to be proceeds of money laundering.The syndicate includes a mobile police officer,Corporal Aliyu Ismaila,Abubakar Jibrin,Abdulsalam Ado,Ibrahim Babangida,Reuben Dauda,Hassan Aliyu,Sani Yusuf and Murtala Mohammed.Located in the choice area of Garki,Abuja,the property is currently under investigation by tthe agency,and became a subject of interest,in the aftermath of findings into the N3.9 billion fraud case involving a former Chief of Defence Staff,CDS,Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh {retd}.The property was also linked to the wife of the former
