 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.             According to PM News,on sunday the 27th of December 2015,will forever remained a sad day for 9 year old Chinwedu Precious,a housemaid whose employer poured hot water at Alagbado area of Lagos state.It was gathered that the young girl's 26 year old boss,Mrs.Ifeoma Mbakwe,who resides at Idowu street,Alagbado,was arrested by youths of the area and handed her over to the police after the dastardly act.The victim was rushed to REM-YEMS Hospital,Alagbado where she is currently receiving treatment.Mrs Ifeoma Mbakwe,who hails from Anambra state,has been arraigned in court.An angry resident identified as Mrs Joy Sunday,described the action of Mrs Mbakwe as wickedness of the highest order and advised relevant authorities to make sure she is prosecuted to serve as a lesson to others.Mrs Sunday ''The action of Mrs Mbakwe is a disgrace to us who are women.How can a mother do this kind of a thing to another woman's child and at the time everyone is celebrating?''.

                    The United States today thursday,donated 24 Mine Resistant Armour protected Vehicles {MRAP} to Nigeria.The vehicles were donated to the Nigerian army to boost their anti-terror operations and the vehicles were retrieved from Iraq and Afghanistan.The Excess Defense Articles Programme is designed  to transfer excess military equipment from the U.S to foreign governments or iinternational organisations to help with moderation of partner nation military capabilities.According to the U.S Embassy's Defence Attache,Col.Patrick Doyle,who represented Ambassador James Entwistle said that The vehicles became U.S Army's assets following the downsizing of U.S military and the country's withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan.However,about 50 percent of the vehicles are faulty,with no spare parts to repair them for quick deployment to war zone.It will cost the military millions of dollars to fix the and equip the MRAP to standard use.Instead of repairing it with so much

                According to sources,a 37 year old bus driver,Abiodun Sesan John,was today thursday remanded in Ilesa Prisons in Osun for allegedly killing a passenger aNd attempting to bury him in the bush.An Oshogbo Magistrate court which hannded down the order,said the accused should be kept behind bars because of the magnitude of the offence committed.The accused is facing a three count charge of conspiracy,murder and theft.The plea of the accused was not taken.Earlier,the prosecutor,Isp.James Idoko,told the court that the accused conspired with his conductor now at larged to kill a passenger,Yemi Kehinde,along Ile-Ife Ibadan Expressway.Idoko said the accused attacked the deceased in a bid to cart away his planks.''The accused was aprehended while trying to bury the deceased.It took the intervention of motorists and pedestrians to apprehend the accused before the arrival of the police''.The magistrate,Mr Olusola Aluko,adjourned the case to Feb.16 for mention.

RWANDA HUTU REBELS,KILLED 14 EASTERN D.R CONGO CIVILIANS TODAY.

                 According to sources,today thursday morning Rwanda Hutu rebels killed 14 civilians from a rival ethnic group in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and wounded nine.According to Mak Hazukay,a local spokesman for Congo's army said that Fighters from the Democratic Forces for the Liberatiob of Rwanda {FDLR} attacked the ethnic Nande civilians in the town of Lubero in North Kivu province at around 2am {7.pn ET}.He further said that the killings appeared to be revenged for a series of attacks launched by Nande Mai Mai militias against the FDLR.The Nande,who dominate commerce in North Kivu,are historic rivals of the local Hutu.''For some time now,the FDLR and Mai Mai have fought over the zone and that has provoked high tensions between the communities''.One more photo below.                                                                                                                                           

FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA,GRANTED HALIRU BELLO & HIS SON BAIL.

                Today thursday it was reported that a Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the former acting national chairman of the People's Democratic Party,Haliru Bello,and his son Abba Bello,bail.Both men are standing trial for an alleged diversion of N300 million meant for the procurement of arms by the Office of the National Security Adviser.Two firms,BAM Projects and Properties Limited were charged along with the duo.The court set the bail sum at N300 million.Also,Bello and his son will provide two sureties each.One of each of the sureties must be a civil servant not below 12 in the civil service.The other surety must have properties in Abuja worth N300 million.The court also ruled that both defendants persons must deposit their travel documents with the court.It also ordered that both defendants are only to be released when they hve met their bail conditions.Therefore,Abba Bello will still be remanded at Kuje Prison,Abuja,while Haliru Bello will remain under the care of
