EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

             It happened at a NBA game when both Rihanna and police commission president Steve Soboroff,wanted to take a selfie together to show support for the LAPD at the clippers NBA play off game against the Oklahoma city Thunder on friday.The accident payed off at the end because after the smashing of the phone incident,she handed $25,000 to a charity fund for officers.More photos below.

            41 years old Gwyneth Paltrow will co star with Nigerian,but born in Britain actor Chiwetel Ejiofor in the high profile remake of the Spanish movie THE SECRET IN THE EYES,which won the Academy Award for Best foreign language film in 2009.The film is a crime thriller that will be shot in the fall in Boston.Ejiofor will play a former MI-5 agent who returns to Boston on a joint task force with the FBI,still obssessed by the unsolved murder that continues to haunt him.As he inches closer to solving the crime,he uncovers a shocking truth that will shed a terrifying new light on past events.Gwyneth would likely play Irene,who works in the justice department in the original Spanish version.That character was played by Soledad Villami.More photos below.

OSCAR PISTORIUS TO UNDERGO MENTAL EVALUATION.

             According to sources,the South African court today wednesday ordered Oscar Pistorius to undergo evaluation for mental illness,a move which could determine whether he lacked criminal capacity when he shot dead his girlfriend.The prosecution had asked for the evaluation after a Psychiatrist told the court on monday that Pistorius who is on trial for murder of Reeva Steen Kamp on February 14,2013,suffered from an anxiety disorder.The prosecutor has argued he wanted to prevent Oscar from later appealing on the basis of a disturbed mental condition {smart move}.The Defence lawyer Barry Roux had argued against the motion,saying it was premature to have the evaluation before he called other witnesses,but the Judge ruled that a mental assessment would ensure that Oscar Pistorius gets a fair trial,adding that she thought it strange that the Defence had opposed the motion.

NIGERIA,ISSUES INTERPOL ARREST WARRANT FOR A BRITON.

            According to sources,the Briton deserted the army and plotted two bombings in Abuja that killed at least 90 people.The international arrest warrant has attracted a reward of 25million naira for any information leading to the arrest of Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche and Rufai Abubakar Tsiga,both suspected members of the boko haram group.Mike Omeri,Director General of the National Orientation Agency part of the Ministry of information  said yesterday that ''The National bureau of interpol in the Nigerian police force has issued an international red alert for the search and arrest of Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche''.
