Nigeria’s Gas Reserve To Last For 94 Years – Komalafe July 12, 2023      The Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Mr Gbenga Komolafe, on Monday disclosed that Nigeria’s gas reserves will last the next 94 years. Thunderstorm kills three suspected kidnappers in Kwara July 12, 2023     The Kwara State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a thunderstorm that reportedly killed three suspected kidnappers in the agrarian Oro Ago community in the Ifelodun local government area of the state. Akelicious gathered that the incident, linked to the efforts of the local vigilance team in  Igbomina was aimed at checking security challenges in the Kwara state. According to a video that has gone viral, the incident happened about three days ago in the community. In the video, it was gathered that the victims of the thunderstrike were suspected members of an eight-man kidnap gang, who reportedly operated in Iwo, in the Isin local government area of the state about three weeks ago. The one-minute-13-second video clip showed decomposing bodies of three young persons, presumably in their 20s, already burnt beyond recognition in a bush, with flies all over the scene. MAN BRUTALISES HIS WIFE IN BENUE 12th July, 2023      A woman is currently battling with her life in a hospital in Makurdi, Benue State after she was brutalised by her husband, Emma Kwaghgbe, said to be a house agent. A Facebook user, Krayzeetee Atu, who is handling the case, said the incident happened on Saturday night, July 8, 2023. Mr. Atu, said the victim is receiving treatment at Yima Clinic Akehe at the mercy of online donors as she has no money to pay the bills. “This is what one Emmanuel Kwaghgbe who stays at International market road before jamb office. The troops obliterated the criminals when they gallantly fought through an ambush staged by the bandits, while responding to a distress call in Mangu general area. Bauchi Assembly Adopts Hausa As Language Of Communication Bauchi State House of Assembly has adopted Hausa Language in addition to English in conducting business of the House. Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Abubakar Y Suleiman, announced this at the plenary shortly after member representing Shira Constituency, Hon. Auwal Hassan, moved a motion, on Tuesday. Hassan said that the English is the official language adopted for conducting of governmental and nongovernmental institutions in Nigeria and the Section 97 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Order 3 Rule 8 of the Standing Orders of the Bauchi State House of Assembly 2017 provides that the proceedings and debates of the House shall be conducted in English Language, the house may conduct its business in one or more other languages spoken in the State. Ladoja drags Makinde, Olubadan to court over beaded crown-wearing Obas The Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, Rashidi Ladoja has dragged the Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde; the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, and his ten newly elevated beaded crown-wearing Obas to court over the chieftaincy title. Ladoja dragged them to Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan last Thursday. The PUNCH had exclusively reported, on Thursday, June 22, that Makinde approved the elevation following the recommendation of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, who is the prescribed and consenting authority. It will also be recalled that the governor last Friday presented the Staff of Office to the new Obas. Nigerian man sentenced to one year imprisonment for attempted räpë of Australian tourist in Bali A Nigerian man has been handed a one-year prison sentence after being found guilty of attempting to rape a female tourist from Australia while they were both on vacation in Bali, Indonesia.  Daily Mail Australia reported on Wednesday, July 12, that Idongesit Joseph Zion, was convicted of the crime of attempted rape against the woman identified as KTR, at the Denpasar District Court on July 6.  Delivering the verdict, Presiding Judge Ida Bagus Bamadewa Patiputra, said: "The defendant, Idongesit Joseph Zion, is declared legally and convincingly guilty of the crime of attempted rape. The defendant is sentenced to one year in prison.” The court found that Zion had fulfilled the elements of Article 285 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 53 paragraph 1, which deals with attempted rape.
