 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. NAF AIRCRAFT DESTROYS TERRORISTS’ MEETING VENUE NEAR BAGA.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a building being used as meeting venue by Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters near Baga in Northern Borno State. The attack was conducted yesterday, 1 January 2019, after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed that the building was being used as an assembly point by the terrorists. Consequently,   the ATF dispatched a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the building. A direct hit was recorded on the target leading to significant damage to the structure and neutralization of the occupants. 12 DIED IN A MULTIPLE CRASH ALONG IBADADN ROAD FEW MINUTES TO NEW YEAR..{PHOTO}.

      The crash occurred at km 3 Gbagi, along the Ibadan/Ife Road and involved three cars – a red DAF 85Trailer with no registration number, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota HiAce bus. Nineteen people were involved in the crash – 10 male adults, eight female adults and one male child who was among the dead. According to a Road Safety Report, the Oyo State Federal Road Safety Corps Command got a report of the crash at 11:56 pm, just four minutes to 2019 and responded immediately by sending a detachment of FRSC standby rescue team to the crash site. Oyo State Sector Commander, Mrs Cecelia Alao, said nine people were confirmed dead on the spot, while 10 injured victims were taken to the Toun Specialist Hospital, Iwo Road for medical attention. Three of those taken to the hospital later succumbed to their injuries taking the death toll to 12 – eight male adults, three female adults, and a male child.
