 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.       The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Thursday vowed to bring down the full weight of the law on lecturers who take advantage of their students or sexually harass them. His administration, he said, would not condone any form of sexual immorality or other vices in any of Ogun State-run institutions of higher learning. Prince Dapo Abiodun, who made this known at the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, said that the much talked about whistleblower going around higher institutions on the sexual harassment issue is a thing of shame that shouldn't happen in any tertiary institution where discipline is taken seriously.      The EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Thursday, November 28, 2019 arraigned the duo of Kayode Phillip and Hamza Koudeih before Justice Muslim S. Hassan of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a 25-count charge bordering on conspiracy and money laundering. The defendants, who are high-valued targets in Organized Cyber Syndicate   Network, OCSN, were arrested for their alleged involvement in various cyber crimes and money laundering.       The EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has commenced investigation into the allegations of over N150, 000, 000 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) fraud involving Stephen Oshinowo, a former Executive Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board; Shobaloju Akinwunmi, Director, Accounts and one Kasali Kamoru Amoo. The suspects are being investigated for alleged stealing, money laundering and  abuse of office to the tune of over N150, 000, 000. Investigations revealed that the suspects fraudulently converted the money to their personal use through two companies: Julikam International Limited and Orsimolu Trading Solutions, while also using some pseudo names that benefited from the scheme.

       A business man in Abia State, Ezeala Emmanuel Chiedozie, whose hope of recovering his N5, 360, 000 (Five Million, Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira) eight years ago through a bank fraud perpetrated in his name in one of the new generation banks, have stated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is indeed, the last hope of the common man in Nigeria. Ezeala made the assertion on  Wednesday November 27, 2019 while being presented with a bank draft of N5, 360, 000 by the Zonal Head of the Commission in the South East, Usman Imam, on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu in Enugu. “I am very glad for what you people have done for me. In fact, for eight years now, I have been doing one thing or another to survive as it has not been easy, you are indeed the last hope if the common man,” he stressed.
