 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.         The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 re-arraigned Malabu Oil & Gas Limited, Aliyu Abubakar and six others before Justice I.E. Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on sixty-seven amended charges, bordering on money laundering to the tune of $875,740,000( Eight Hundred and Seventy Five Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand United States Dollars). The other six defendants are: A Group Construction Company Limited; Rocky Top Resources Limited; Megatech Engineering Limited; Novel Properties and Development Company Limited, Imperial Union Limited and Carlin International Nigeria Limited.          The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reassured the people of the State that his Administration would not inflict unnecessary pain on them in the course of executing projects. Governor Abiodun, who gave the reassurance while receiving the report from the Committee set up to review projects and contracts awarded between 2009 to 2019, in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, also pleaded with those going through some mobility difficulties as a result of ongoing project in their areas. "I want to assure the people of Ogun State that we will not inflict unnecessary pain on them. We have been careful not to impose pains on our people as regards all the projects we have done so far.         A bungalow built and furnished for Miss Ada Aniwetalu in Umuazu, Nteje community, Oyi LGA of Anambra state, by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Archbishop Valerian Okeke was today handed over to the girl. Ada Aniwetalu, a physically challenged girl was born without both arms. According to Archbishop Okeke, the unfortunate situation of the girl was brought to his attention by a Reverend Sister and seeing the girl's ability in her disability, being able to write and perform tasks with her toes, he resolved to help her achieve her life's goals thus, he placed her on a fully-paid scholarship together with her friend (her helper).            An undergraduate of University of Benin, Miss Chinenye Promise Nwoye has died after allegedly being strangled by a suspected ritualist in a hotel room at Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra state... According to Anambra Broadcasting Service Radio, the young lady from Iruokpala, Ire Village in Abba, Njikoka Local Government of Anambra State, is believed to be a victim of scammers or kidnappers, who lured her into the hotel for ritual purposes on August 27, 2020. Miss Nwoye, who was on scholarship at UNIBEN, kept busy during the COVID-19 break by registering for computer lessons in a neighbouring town. On the day she was killed, she was allegedly lured to the hotel by her killers.        This is Rev Alibura Audu that was murdered at his station Saturday night while keeping watch with his members and others in Buda community under Kajuru Local Government Area,Kaduna State. He is the senior pastor of ECWA Hausa Buda LCB, Kufana LCC of Kasuwan Magani DCC. While he and other persons killed, some of his members have been abducted by the same Militias. May he rest in peace.

SANWO-OLU APPROVES INCREASE IN MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR DEFINED BENEFIT PENSIONERS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved a 33% increment for all State Pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme (PAY AS YOU GO) with effect from the 1st January, 2020, just as he also approved the payment of a balance of 25% rent allowance for officers on GL 07 and above who had retired from May 2000 to August 2004. The Honourable Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle, who disclosed this during a recent meeting with the members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, affirmed that both the increment and payment of the arrears will take effect from September, 2020, in a bid to meet up with the harmonisation exercise for the pensioners.
