  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                               According to sources,Nana Akufo has been sworn in as Ghana's new president today after beating incumbent leader John Mahama in last month's election.Heads of state from acrosss Africa and thousands of guests and dignitaries watched him take the oath of office at a ceremoney in the capital,Accra.Mr Akufo-Addo,a 72-year old former human rights lawyer,promised free high school education and more factories.Mr Akufo-Addo repeated the presidential oath as it was read out to him at a ceremony in the capital's Independence Square today saturday in a Tradition Ghana kente print outfit with love symbol on it.Congratulations to all Ghana citizens.More photos below.

                                             The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,Ibadan Zonal Office has arrested the due of Timothy Adegbaji Ademiju and Taiye Shittu Habibulahi,a student of Obafemi Awolowo University,OAU,Ile-Ife,Osun State,for offences bordering on internet fraud and obtaining by false pretence.Ademiju,36 a staff of a new generation bank,allegedly struck a deal with a student of Adekunle Ajasin University,Akungba,Ondo State,one David Olaoluwa Adesubokan ,also known as Opinion {now at large},to fleece one Giacomo Rossi,an Italian,of huge sum of money while posing as a lady by name,Grace Thomas.Ademiju allegedly used his position as the officer in charge of Western Money Transfer to process the fraudulent transactions coming from the Italian to 'Thomas'. LAGOS TO PROSECUTE 38 ARRESTED STREET TRADERS AND 33 MISCREANTS.

                            The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offence Unit {Task Force} has concluded arrangements to charge 38 arrested street traders and 33 miscreants to the Lagos State Environmental courts for immediate prosecution.The operatives of the Agency have carried ut an enforcement exercise to dislodge traders from hawking,selling and displaying wares on road setbackd/walkways in order to protect their lives and to also pave way for free flow of traffic along Ketu axis to Ikorodu roundabout.The 38 arrested street traders were mostly women who hawked or displayed wares on road setbacks/walkways thereby causing obstruction to free flow of traffic from Ketu to Ikorodu roundabout.While the 33 arrested miscreants were those who specialise in terrorising people living around Ketu,Owode-Elede,Ajelogo,Alapere and Mile Twelve including those collecting illegal fees from motorists.The enforcement exercise,according to the Chairman of the Lagos Stat Task Force,SP O
