 BENUE TASKFORCE NABS THREE FOR N350,000 'MARCHING GROUND' EXTORTION 29th March, 2025      The Taskforce on Illegal Levies and Criminal Activities in Makurdi has arrested three suspected gang members for extorting money from a borehole drilling operation in the Nyoogyungu area of Makurdi, Benue State. The suspects, identified as Anyakpa Aondoaver, Sende Stephen, and Akaahan Terna, were reportedly caught on CCTV demanding N350,000 as an illegal “Marching Ground” levy from a drilling team. Acting on a distress call, the task force swiftly intervened and apprehended the suspects, handing them over to the Police Area Command in Makurdi for prosecution. Parading the suspects, the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, Hon.                               According to sources,Nana Akufo has been sworn in as Ghana's new president today after beating incumbent leader John Mahama in last month's election.Heads of state from acrosss Africa and thousands of guests and dignitaries watched him take the oath of office at a ceremoney in the capital,Accra.Mr Akufo-Addo,a 72-year old former human rights lawyer,promised free high school education and more factories.Mr Akufo-Addo repeated the presidential oath as it was read out to him at a ceremony in the capital's Independence Square today saturday in a Tradition Ghana kente print outfit with love symbol on it.Congratulations to all Ghana citizens.More photos below.

LAGOS TO PROSECUTE 38 ARRESTED STREET TRADERS AND 33 MISCREANTS.

                            The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offence Unit {Task Force} has concluded arrangements to charge 38 arrested street traders and 33 miscreants to the Lagos State Environmental courts for immediate prosecution.The operatives of the Agency have carried ut an enforcement exercise to dislodge traders from hawking,selling and displaying wares on road setbackd/walkways in order to protect their lives and to also pave way for free flow of traffic along Ketu axis to Ikorodu roundabout.The 38 arrested street traders were mostly women who hawked or displayed wares on road setbacks/walkways thereby causing obstruction to free flow of traffic from Ketu to Ikorodu roundabout.While the 33 arrested miscreants were those who specialise in terrorising people living around Ketu,Owode-Elede,Ajelogo,Alapere and Mile Twelve including those collecting illegal fees from motorists.The enforcement...
