  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Governor Fayemi was received by Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State. The Kashim Ibrahim Fellows Programme is an initiative of the Kaduna State Government to develop and nurture the potentials of young Nigerians who are expected to assume leadership positions in the public sector and other areas of activity over the next decade.More photos below.

      Entertainers in Nigeria have been urged to collaborate with the EFCC, by using their creative arts to fight against financial and internet crimes in Nigeria by living a life worthy of emulation for young Nigerians, who look onto them as role models. Veteran ace comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, aka Ali Baba, who spoke in Lagos in an interview with EFCC, at the weekend enjoined the Commission not to spare any   of his colleagues in entertainment industry who uses his or her work of art to encourage internet fraud popularly known as yahoo-yahoo. Ali Baba, however, tasked his colleagues to use their profession to rewrite the narrative in the fight against corruption and urged them to stay out of crime adding that the EFCC shouldn’t take it lightly in dealing with entertainers who encourage crime especially, cybercrime.More photos below.

         Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has disclosed that the State Public Service has the reputation of being the most progressive public service in West Africa as it has, despite tough times, continued to find ways to improve the service offered and values provided to the public by the State Government. The Governor stated this today while speaking at the 6th Summit and Public Presentation of a book titled: “Five Decades of Excellent Public Service in Lagos State:1967 – 2017”, a compendium by the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS), held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa.        🎖 Today The Duke of Cambridge presented Eileen Fenton with her MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire). 🏊🏼‍♀️  Eileen was the first woman, at the age of 21, to complete the Cross Channel Swimming Race in 1950. Eileen later became secretary of the Dewsbury Swimming Club, during which time she trained scores of first-class long distance and sprint swimmers. William Reid received his MBE In recognition of his work as an Ambassador for The Soldier’s Charity. William served in the army for 13 years, but most recently he has raised over £100,000 for military charities and veterans. After being injured by an IED in Afghanistan and becoming a triple amputee, William has dedicated his time to taking on physical challenges to support others with life threatening injuries.       Philately is the study of stamps and postal history and other related items. The society aims to promote the science and practice of the study of stamps, as well as maintain collections of stamps. The Queen met young philatelists, architects of the new building, administration staff and supporters of the society. Her Majesty also saw displays of various different s tamps and books. The Royal Family has a long history associated with stamps and stamp collecting. These photographs taken by Dorothy Wilding, of Her Majesty in 1952, were used as the basis of The Queen’s image on postage stamps from 1953 until 1971. In two sittings, photographer Wilding took 59 images of The Queen. Arnold Machin’s effigy of The Queen, which has featured on UK stamps since 1967, is widely considered to be one of the most reproduced and iconic images in the world. GOV. SANWO-OLU LEADS WALK AGAINST DOMESTIC,SEXUAL VIOLENCE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to wield "the big stick" on perpetrators of rape, domestic violence and child abuse in the state. He added that the state will support the police and the judiciary to ensure the crime is brought to the barest minimum. He gave this warning on Tuesday in his address to Lagosians after the "Walk To Commit and Act" rally organised by Lagos State Government through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) of the Ministry of Justice to further drive home his message against the menace. Sanwo-Olu, who said the government is commemorating the day in line with United Nations declaration against gender-based violence added that the State is working hard with its police command and all relevant agencies to bring the crime to zero point. CRASH SURVIVOR UFUOMA PEACE OGHENERUME TO BE CALLED TO THE NIGERIAN BAR.{PHOTO}.

       Benue Links Akwanga Crash Survivor, Ufuoma Peace Oghenerume, to be Called to the Nigerian Bar By Ukan Kurugh Ukan Destiny, it is said cannot be denied and this is being evidenced in the life of Miss Ufuoma Peace Oghenerume. Being one of the two persons who survived the Benue Links tragedy that claimed over a dozen lives months ago at the Nasarawa Eggon hills, Ufuoma endured excruciating pains in theatre and is now glued to a wheelchair to perfect her healing. She was in trans it to Makurdi to undertake her final clearance at Benue State University so as to obtain her certificate for screening for her call to Bar before the tragedy occurred. But God had destined her to become a lawyer and even the accident could not stop it as she miraculously survived. She would graciously participate in the Call to Bar ceremonies between 26 and 28 November and become Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Let us remember her in our prayers. COURT JAILS 15 FOR INTERNET FRAUD IN ENUGU.{PHOTOS}.

      The EFCC, Enugu Zonal Office, has secured the conviction of fifteen internet fraudsters before Justice I.N Buba of the Federal High Court, Enugu. The convicts are: Isiah Nduka Alozie, Michael Chwuebuka and Njoku Chinedu. Others are: Attah Emeka, Chigozie Jude Okonkwo, Fabulous Chidiebere, Chinecherem Odikpo, Ejimonye Donald, Odunka Ike Nelson, Onuncha Jacob, Onyedika Maacha, Uzorma Sanctus, Wisdom Okeke, Igwe Chinonso and Okoye Pasca l. They are between 21 to 27 years and mostly students of various tertiary institutions across the zone.One more photo below.
