EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Ex-Deputy Governor, Dameshi To Be Buried January 5  *** The funeral arrangements for former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Hon. Dameshi Luka Barau have been released.  This was contained in a statement issued by Dr. Aminu Dodo Yamu on behalf of the Burial's planning committee.  According to the statement, he'll be buried at his residence in Ningo, Akwanga LGA of the State on Thursday January 05. “On Wednesday 4th January 2023, by 3pm there will Christian wake keep at Late Dameshi's residence, Ningo village, along Jos road, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.  “On Thursday by 8am corpse will be taken from General Hospital Akwanga to King's Summit Church, off Keffi road for church service. “Final Internment at his residence in Ningo,” Yamu announced.  Dameshi had died on December 12, 2022 at Zenith Hospital Abuja after protracted illness. He was 58-years old.   He left behind his aged mother, brothers, sisters, uncles, relations, friends and five (5) children.

Gunmen Raid Late Emir’s Residence, Kidnap Five In Kaduna Bandits reportedly raided the late Emir of Jere, Dr Sa’ad Usman’s private residence in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted some persons. The attack reportedly took place on Sunday, at 11:00 pm as residents were set to go to bed. A resident in the area, Alhaji Musa Arungo, said a man, Hussaini, was abducted while his wife and four-month-old baby escaped while the attackers were in a neighbouring house. According to him, the bandits entered a nearby community, Anguwar Salanke and abducted another resident, identified as Baba Na’ibi. “After the abduction of the resident, they also injured two occupants of the house – Ahmad and Musa. The two injured persons were taken to the hospital,” he said. Confirming the abduction, the Jere emirate council’s secretary, Malam Aliyu Zubair, said six people were abducted in the area based on the information at his disposal. Stray bullet kills final year UNIZIK student as gunmen and Nigerian Army clash in Imo A final year student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, was killed by a stray bullet during a gun duel between unknown gunmen and soldiers at a military checkpoint at Ubomiri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Sahara Reporters reports.    The 500L Radiography student, Godson Anumenwe, was said to have left Port Harcourt for his hometown on Saturday night, December 31, 2022, when he met his untimely death. The President of the Radiography Students' Association, Anonde Stephen, confirmed the sad news in a statement on Monday, January 2, 2023.   "Until the time of his death, he was in the 500 level class waiting to sign out very soon. It's a very sad loss for all," the statement read. "We sympathize with the bereaved and urge all to remember the family in prayers as we grief and mourn this great loss. Rest easy Godson." The committee, during its investigation, found that only one of the fake doctors had a secondary school certificate, while one of them was an electrical engineer who owned an eight-bed hospital that claimed to treat different illnesses. The chairman of the committee, Alhaji Abubakar Musa Karafe, said the worst part was how one of the fake doctors infused HIV-positive blood in a woman who attended his clinic for treatment of malaria.  Edwin Clark Endorses Peter Obi For President Elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has endorsed the candidacy of Mr Peter Obi for the 2023 general elections.
