 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

INEC FIXES DATE FOR ANAMBRA SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTIONS.

                 The Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} has fixed saturday November 30th as the date when supplementary elections will hold in Anambra state.the electoral mgoverning body had to set up supplementary elections in order to counter the effects of wide spread election rigging which was overseen by at least one of their officials.one errant official has been handed over to the Nigerian police force.it is not yet known how many political parties will participate in the up coming elections as some of the political parties have vowed to boycott the elections and only participated if an entire new elections is held.

MAN,SENTENCED TO DEATH BY STONING.

                     The upper sharia court in Bauchi has sentenced a 30 year old man,Umar Mohammed Kandahar to death by stoning,for impregnating his younger sister,from the same father.the suspect is married with three wives,but forcefully had sex with his younger sister.the younger sister was brought to his house by their father to help with take her to school but instead he forced her and had sexual intercourse with her,when she was 16 years old.the act resulted in pregnancy and she has already delivered a baby,which is contrary to section 136{1} of the Bauchi state penal code law 2001.the accused pleaded guilty but disagreed that he forced her to have sexual intercourse,instead he maintained that his sister accepted to have sex with him.the shariah court judge Musa Barde sentenced him to death by stoning.the accused  has filled an Appeal against the judgement before the Bauchi state sharia court of Appeal,arguing that he did not agree with the judgment .the presiding judge,justice

                        The senate passed a new law on tinted glass users {motorist} without a permit from the Nigerian police will face a 6 month jail term,N50,000 fine or both.The bill was sponsored by senate ita Enang.Senator paulinus the chairman of the joint committee,it is necessary to let Nigerians know that the police was not trying to introduce a new law but was merely trying to enforce an already existing regulations 66{2} of the National Traffic Regulations of 1997 and the motor vehicles {Prohibition of Tinted Glass} act.the bill among other provisions requested buyers of imported vehicles with tinted,shaded,coloured,darkened or treated glass to change it to transparent once within 14days from the date of arrival in Nigeria or date of arrival in Nigeria or date of purchase.Buyers of such vehicles should request for a permit for the use of such tinted glass vehicles from the office of the Inspector General of Police,anywhere in the country,withing 90 days of importing the veh
