The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. MODERNA RECALLS THOUSANDS OF COVID-19 VACCINE DOSES IN EUROPE.(PHOTO).

Moderna Inc (MRNA.O) said on Friday it was recalling 764,900 doses of its COVID-19 vaccine made by its contract manufacturer Rovi (ROVI.MC) after a vial was found contaminated by a foreign body. No safety issues have been identified, Moderna said about the lots that were distributed in Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden in January. The drugmaker said the contamination was found in just one vial, and it was recalling the whole lot out of "an abundance of caution". It did not disclose what was found in the vial. Japanese authorities last year suspended the use of some doses of the vaccine, which Moderna later recalled, after an investigation found stainless steel contaminants in some vials. [USN:L1N2Q30X3] Over 900 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine have been administered worldwide to date. Moderna said on Friday it did not believe the contamination posed a risk to other vials in the lot.

Killings: Your Days Are Numbered – Defence Chief, Irabor Warns Terrorists The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, has warned terrorists troubling the Southern part of Kaduna State that their days are numbered. Irabor also restated the resolve of Nigeria’s military to restore peace in Southern Kaduna. He made this known in Kafanchan on Thursday during a peace meeting with stakeholders involved in the Southern Kaduna crisis, NAN reports. Southern Kaduna has become a hotbed of deadly attacks by terrorists in recent months. In some quarters in Southern Kaduna, over 100 persons were killed following repeated attacks on several communities in the area. Also, the terrorists recently attacked a train on the Abuja-Kaduna route at about 7:43pm, the Nigerian Railway Corporation said 398 tickets were bought, saying that only 362 passengers were validated.

Nigerian Government Silent About Our Kidnapped Loved Ones Since Tragic Incident, Families Protest The Nigerian government has been accused of being silent on what it is doing to secure the release of passengers abducted during a recent attack on a Kaduna-bound train.  Some terrorists on Monday, March 28, attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train, Kidnapping many of the passengers.  Eight persons were also confirmed killed and 26 others injured.  However, the families of the abducted passengers have accused the government of being silent about what it is doing to rescue their loved ones since the incident occurred.  Aminu Othman, whose brother was abducted, on Thursday said the Nigerian government has not been forthcoming with information as regards those abducted, Punch reports. Court Jails Six Internet Fraudsters in Calabar Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court sitting Calabar, Cross River state has convicted and sentenced six internet fraudsters, for their involvement in various internet-related offences. The convicts are: Ezenwadike Kingsley, Ugwuoke Keneth, Gabriel Ewa Jonah, Emmanuel Chukwunonso, Ettano Blessing and Obidiche Michael Ifeanyi.  They were jailed on Thursday, April 7, 2022 based on their “guilty” pleas to one-count separate charge preferred against them by the Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC. Ettano Blessing sometime in 2022, fraudulently presented himself as Dylan Espana and V Musa Wenkosi, an American Bitcoin manager, to his victims on Facebook and Instagram and obtained the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700) from one Luzuko Mguda and Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) from his victims, an offence contrary to Section 22 (2) (b) (i) and (ii) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section 2

Court Strikes Out 8 of 15 Terrorism FG Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu.  The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out eight out of the 15 count charges preferred by the federal government against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Justice Binta Nyako court freed Nnamdi Kanu of eight counts charges slammed on him by the Federal Government on Friday, while ruling on a preliminary objection filed by the IPOB leader challenging the validity of the 15-count amended charge preferred against him by the federal government. “In this instant preliminary objection application, I have read the counts and come to the conclusion that counts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 have not disclosed any offense against the Defendant. “‘Counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 15 shows some allegations, which the Defendant has to answer" the court ruled.
