 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. AT LEAST 12 PEOPLE WERE INJURED TODAY,AS A PLANE VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AT GOA AIRPORT.{PHOTOS}.

                        According to BBC,at least twelve passengers on board an Indian Jet Airways Boelin 737 aircraft have been injured when it veered off the runway at Goa airport while preparing for take-off.The plane carrying One Hundred and Fifty Four passengers to Mumbai,came off the runway because of a technical failure.But the exact details of what the accident are unclear.The plane's front undercarriage and one of its wings appeared to have been damaged as it came to a halt supported only by its body frame and engine casings.Most of the injured only seemed to have cuts and bruises,although some injuries were more serious. A passenger identified as Dinesh Kumar said ''I fractured my leg.The moment the plane started running on the runway,it slipped into the nearby field and there was smoke inside the flight''.More photos below.

                                          I started shopping for my Christmas dress since September and that gave me enough time to select the best materials in the market,sew my dress and even made some adjustments along the line ,same thing i deed for my new year outfit that is yet to be seen by all.I know alot of people would be going for the Christmas colours which is red,green etc.Like i suspected majority of the people in church went for those two colours meanwhile 30% of us wore something different.I picked gold and black but more of gold just to give me that golden globe look.I carried a swuade purse,and black transparent heels.I hope you love my dress because i don't settle for less.More photos below.

                         United States President elect Donald Trump on tuesday,will meet President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou to discuss the ongoing political turmoil crisis in Libya and other African issues.Sassou's spokesman who twitted this information on monday noted that the two men were meeting to discuss ways to end the Libyan crisis as well as other brother issues affecting the continent.He did not give any other details about the meeting plans.Representatives for Trump's team did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking to confirm the meeting with the incoming Republican president,who takes office January Twenty .

NIGERIAN ARMY TO USE SAMBISA FOREST AS TRAINING GROUND FROM 2017.-TUKUR

                       According to sources,the Sambisa forest,beginning from next year,will serve as traning ground for personnel of the Nigerian Army,Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai,the Chief of Army Staff,has announced in Damasak.Buratai was in Damasak to celebrate the Christmas with troops of the One hundred and Forty Five Battalion after the road leading to the twon was reopened by Governor Kashim Shettima,three years after closure.The army chief said that troops were already conducting a mop up operation in the forest after the last strong hold of the Boko Haram terrorists was captured.''We are also opening up roads to the forest-Sambisa,as well as Alagarno forest.This Sambisa forest is going to be one of our training grounds.Next year,I have already directed that we should conduct our Nigerian Army small arms championship in that forest.And we are going to use it also to test fire fighting vehicles,as well as other key equipment and weapons that requires testing firing whenever we
