ANAMBRA GOVT RESCUES 13 CHILDREN FROM TRAFFICKERS, ARREST SUSPECTS. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.      The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has urged Nigerians in the diaspora not to believe everything they read on the social media about happenings in the country, saying most of what emanates from the social media is fake news. Addressing the staff of the Nigerian Embassy to the United States in Washington, DC, on Friday, the Minister said they should rely on credible sources for news from home. He advised them to download the FGN-iAPP on their mobile devices in order to have access to authentic Nigerian news. Alhaji Mohammed said the federal government recently launched the National Campaign Against Fake News in order to stem the spread of false and misleading information, which is capable of threatening the peace and security of the country.     One of my reporter Chinenye Genevieve is reporting today that ''A mother who left her 2 year old son in an Hyundai 4 wheel drive yesterday afternoon in Magodo Estate just to hurriedly pick something in her apartment returned to the spot to discover that her son and car had moved out of the gate, across the road and crashed into a 20 feet deep gully opposite the house.According to an eyewitness account, Mrs Yetunde Olaore drove the car into the compound hurriedly with one side of the gate opened, while she quickly fetched something inside her apartment. She left her son in the car.Before she could come back, the car had rolled back through the opened side of the gate, crossed the road and slid down into a 20 feet gully with it tyres raised up.The 2 year old boy who sustained injuries in the head and arm was rescued by Rapid Response Squad officers who were on patrol of the area.He was instantly rushed to an undisclosed hospital from where he was given first aid before bein...

     Senator Ademola Adeleke, representing Osun West Senatorial District, has been declared the winner of the People's Democratic (PDP) governorship primary ahead of the September 22 election. Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, who is the Chairman of the PDP Election Panel, announced in Osogbo at 10:45pm on Saturday that Adeleke scored 1,569 votes. Dickson said that Adeleke’s closest rival, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Mutual Benefit Assurance, scored 1,562 votes. Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), scored 56 votes while Mr Nathaniel Oke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), got three votes. Dickson said the expected delegates were 3,448 while accredited delegates who participated in the election were 3,246. Troops of 233 Battalion deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have neutralised scores of Boko Haram terrorists yesterday 21 July 2018 along Sasawa Road in Babbangida Local Government Area of Yobe State while countering an ambush staged by elements of Boko Haram terrorists. 2. The troops encountered the ambush during a fighting patrol to clear the general area of fleeing elements of Boko Haram terrorists who have been on rampage for food and logistics. 3.     The Joint Task Force set up by the Lagos State Government involving security agencies and stakeholders in the maritime sector to remove all containerized trucks and tankers parked along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway has opened up the service lane in the axis. Speaking with reporters after inspecting the progress of the operation in company of heads of security agencies and other stakeholders, Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Ladi Lawanson, said it was gratifying to report that the Task Force was able to free the road from Toyota to Mile 2 in a rigorous operation which lasted for 72 hours between Friday and Sunday.      21st July,2018 Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state has condoled with marketers and traders affected by the unfortunate fire incident that ravaged the satellite market attached to the burnt Jos Main Market. In a statement through the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, Lalong described the incident as unfortunate coming at a time when the state was on the path to recovery from recent challenges. It will be recalled that the fire engulfed the popular Jos Main Market during the early hours of Saturday morning. No life was lost during the incident, but goods and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed. Lalong disclosed that his government has already acted on preliminary recommendations received from a team of assessors who visited the area of the market affected by the inferno.
