 Abuja Court Jails Two Internet Fraudsters The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 secured the conviction and sentence of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms. The convicts, Adeleye Olanrewaju and Ayo Olaosebiomo were convicted by Justice I. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory,  FCT,  High Court Gwagwalada on a one- count charge each. The lone- count charge against Olanrewaju  reads: ‘that you Adeleye Olanrewaju sometime in 2024 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court committed the offence of cheating by personation when you pretended to be one Lolita Gonzale293 female American citizen when you created a fake Instagram account for love scam and benefitted the sum of $460 (Four Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars) from your victim John Alonzo and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 321 and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004”.   They both

Vanguard had reported how pro-Jonathan protesters stormed his office, demanding he contest in the forthcoming presidential election.  A spokesman for the group, Mayor Samuel, who is also the convener of the Youth Compatriots of Nigeria said, “We were deceived and brainwashed by those who claimed they could do it in 2015.  “Now, we know better, under Jonathan the minimum wage could buy one or two bags of rice. ORTOM NOMINATES TERVER AKASE, ONE OTHER AS SPECIAL ADVISERS Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has forwarded two names of nominees for appointment as special advisers to the legislature for approval. The names of the nominees, which are contained in a letter, were read yesterday during plenary of the assembly by Speaker Titus Uba in Makurdi. The state house of assembly has granted approval to the names which is his former Chief Press Secretary, Mr Terver Akase and one other. The approval, therefore,brings the total number of the Special Advisers to 32.

Court Jails Internet Fraudster in Port Harcourt Justice S. D. Pam of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced an internet fraudster, Ochei Andrew, to two years imprisonment for impersonation.  He was jailed on Thursday April 21, 2022, after pleading "guilty" to the two count charges preferred against him by the EFCC.

Confirmed: Frontline Presidential aspirant, Mr Peter Obi's phone was stolen earlier today where he was attending the burial of the father of Valentine Ozigbo at Amesi in Aguata LGA. It was reported that Obi has been thrown off balance as his phone can not be traced.  The person who stole it has since switched it off. Sad. More details later.
