 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. LAND USE CHARGE: LASG TAKES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN TO SENATORIAL DISTRICTS As part of efforts to address challenges associated with unresolved Land Use Charge complaints by property owners or their representatives, the Land Use Charge Assessment Appeal Tribunal has taken its sensitisation programmes to each of the three Senatorial Districts in Lagos State.   Speaking at the commencement of the programme at Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat under the East Senatorial District, the Registrar of Land Use Charge Assessment Tribunal (LUCAAT), Mrs. Olayinka Oyegunle, stated that the tribunal was established in August 2011 pursuant to Section 12 of the Land Use Charge Law, 2001 (Now Section 16 of the Land Use Charge Law, 2020). She explained that the tribunal was created by the Lagos State Government to serve as a platform for aggrieved property owners to resolve grievances, in respect of Land Use Charge assessments and other related matters, through an appeal or mediation process. APC Presidential Primary Delegate Slumps, Dies In Abuja Adelegate at the presidential primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Jigawa State, Isah Baba-Buji, has slumped and died.   Baba-Buji reportedly died on Tuesday while taking his breakfast in Abuja. The APC spokesperson in Jigawa, Bashir Kundu, confirmed the incident to journalists.   He said the official was pronounced dead while taking his breakfast and preparing to move to the venue of the party convention.   Kundu said Baba-Buji’s body was being prepared to be conveyed back to Jigawa State for burial rites.  

ONLINE COMEDIENNE 'MADAM SOCIAL ' DIES AT THE AGE OF 82.(PHOTO).#RIP

Anambra-born, popular comedienne, Madam Social is gone at the age of 82. Rest in Peace, Legend.  She was born in 1940,from Nri but married in Nibo and her real name is Roseline Onwujekwe who is a retired civil servant and popularly known as a well known  kerosene seller in her area. She became popular in 2020 when her online videos started trending. A guy called Michael who happened to be her relative is helping her to manage her online videos and account.  She became a millionaire at the age of 81 when she won a competition for her comedy put together by Flavour. The cause of her death is not known to the press,but for now she died of old age. May her soul rest in peace,Amen.

Court Jails Man 5 Years for Love Scam in Kaduna The Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC on June 7, 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Akinola Jeremiah before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court for cyber-fraud Akinola was arrested by the EFCC following credible intelligence on his alleged involvement in internet- related. Upon arrest, analysis of the devices found on him indicated that he was impersonating the identities of Christopher Walker and Thomas Broussard on his social media handles (Hangout, Facebook, and WhatsApp) with a view to defrauding his victims with whom he pretended to be involved in romantic relationships.

POLICE ARREST ONE FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARM Officers of lkorodu division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Kabiru Garba .m. along lgbogbo Ikorodu road. The suspect was arrested at about 2300hrs on Friday June 4, 2022 after he took to his heels upon sighting policemen on routine patrol. After a through search of the suspect, a Beretta pistol was found in his possession. Preliminary investigation has begun to unravel more details about the suspect, his activities and source of the firearm. Suspect would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, has assured residents of Lagos State that efforts are being redoubled towards eradicating all forms criminality in the state. A 48-year-old civil servant identified as Bala Musa has dragged popular Kannywood actress, Hadiza Gabon, before a court over her "refusal" to marry him.   According to NAN, both parties appeared before a Shari’a court in Kaduna State on Monday, June 6.    The complainant told the court that he had been in a relationship with the actress and she promised to marry him.   "So far I have spent N396,000 on her. Anytime she asks for money, I give her without hesitation with the hope that we will marry. The Dominican Republic's minister of environment and natural resources has been shot and killed in his office by a close childhood friend. Orlando Jorge Mera, 55, was holding a meeting at the time of the attack on Monday, June 6, when at least six sh0ts were heard during the attack.   A presidential spokesman identified the k!ller as Miguel Cruz, describing him as a childhood friend of the minister. Police say Cruz is now in custody even though the motive for the sh00ting remains unclear as at press time. In a statement, Jorge Mera's family said he had been shot multiple times by a man he was friends with since childhood but that they had forgiven his k!ller .   "Our family forgives the person who did this. One of Orlando's greatest legacies was to not hold grudges," they added. Mr Jorge Mera had served in incumbent President Luis Abinader's administration since July 2020. Court Sends 73 Years Old to 24 Years in Prison for N71m Fraud in Lagos The EFCC on Friday, June 3, 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Anthony Abomeli to 24 years in prison for N71m fraud before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos. Abomeli, 73, was arraigned by the EFCC on a nine-count charge bordering on issuance of dud cheques, obtaining by false pretence and stealing to the tune of N71 million. He was accused of defrauding a company, Nepal Oil and Gas Services Limited, in a business deal that involved the sale of land in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Insecurity : Gang leader neutralized, as Anambra Police rescue four kidnapped victims By John Ndu Awka, June 6, 2022 (MOI) The Anambra State Police Command said it has neutralized a gang leader of suspected gunmen operating in the state.  The Police who gave the name of the gang leader, Chinedu Ajoku, popularly known as Sambolo, also noted that four kidnapped victims were rescued.   The state's Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP Tochukwu Ikenga made this known while briefing newsmen in the state today.  The PPRO, explained that the police received a distress call and immediately deployed personnel to rescue the situation. He said the leader was naturalized during a gun duel.  "We got information around 1:30pm that some were abducted at Oko and Ekwulobia. We deployed personnel from various commands.
