Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said his arrest in the United States over credit card fraud and forgery in 1986 is not sufficient grounds for his disqualification by the All Progressives Congress (APC). Abiodun disclosed this while responding to a petition submitted by an APC member, Ayodele Oludiran on behalf of Oluwatobi Sofela of Ogun Bibire Unity Forum to the National Chairman of the party, Abdulahi Adamu. Sofela had warned that the party might lose the governorship seat in Ogun due to Abiodun’s criminal history and its concealment from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite swearing an oath. “If action is not taken, the chances of our great party, the APC, retaining the governorship seat in Ogun State shall be in jeopardy as previously seen in Bayelsa and Zamfara states,” Sofela said.

2023: Buhari Has Not Endorsed Tinubu, Osinbajo Or Any Candidate - Okorocha A Former Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has not endorsed any 2023 presidential aspirant. Okorocha who appeared on "Politics Today" on Tuesday evening disclosed that Buhari has not revealed his preferred candidate or given his support to any aspirant yet. He said; "If you know President Muhammadu Buhari, he is a general and you can't predict. He is so unpredictable, you can't predict what he will do. He might pull anybody by surprise. "That's the military training that he has but anybody that goes there, i'm sure whatever he says is what he says to be." "If anybody comes out to say that Buhari has endorsed him, the person will not be saying the truth". Okorocha is also an aspirant seeking the Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the upcoming 2023 elections up yet to obtain N100m form.  

AfDB MOBILIZES $540M FOR NIGERIA TO DEVELOP SPECIAL AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING ZONES   The African Development Bank (AfDB) will support Nigeria to develop Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones, as part of the quest for food security in the country.   Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President of the Bank and a former Minister of Agriculture, disclosed this while briefing President Muhammadu Buhari at State House, Abuja, on Tuesday.   Said Dr Adesina: “We have decided to mobilize $540 for the program. The African Development Bank has approved a total of $210 million. Gbajabiamila seeks UK Parliament's collaboration on insecurity, Parliamentary diplomacy, others The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has sought the support of the United Kingdom's Parliament in the area of insecurity, Parliamentary diplomacy, political and economic prosperity in Nigeria. COVID-19: Federal Government Worries About Resurgence  The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned that there may be possible re-emergence of COVID-19 in the country if citizens fail to take adequate preventive measures. Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, who sounded the warning yesterday, at a bi-weekly COVID-19 media briefing organised by the Health Promotion Department of the ministry in Abuja, expressed worry as another wave of the virus hit China and some parts of Europe, leading to renewed lockdowns. The latest appointments, as contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Enerst Ezeajughi, listed Sir Ugochukwu Obiefuna as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, designated to the Deputy Governor's office, while Mr Emmanuel Obieze is the Deputy Chief Protocol to the Governor, designated also to the Deputy Governor's office. Nigerian Fraud Suspect Extradited to U.S. over Alleged $148,000 Scam A wire fraud suspect, Adedunmola Gbadegesin was on Tuesday April 26, 2022, extradited to the United States where he is wanted in a case of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. The offences contravene Title 18, US Code, Section 1349 and 1956 (h) and carries a maximum jail term of 20 years. His extradition was coordinated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following a request from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, pursuant to a February 11, 2022 Order by Justice D.E Osiagor of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/765/21, which granted a request to extradite the suspect to the United States to answer to criminal charges bordering on romance scam, wire fraud and money laundering. Gbadegesin who was arrested on September 2, 2021, is alleged to have defrauded an America lady living in Kentucky, United States, of over $148,000. More photos below.
