EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

     RESCUE OF KIDNAP VICTIMS The Nigeria Police have today 26th July, 2019, successfully secured the release of four (4) Turkish Nationals earlier kidnapped in Kwara State. No ransom was paid. Three (3) male suspects arrested in connection with the kidnap are currently in Police custody.

    A warehouse where Rochas Okorocha's family allegedly kept looted properties, has been uncovered by the Jasper Ndubuaku-led Imo State Committee on the Recovery of Moveable Assets. The warehouse located at Aba Road, allegedly belongs to Nkechi, wife of former Governor, Rochas Okorocha and it was uncovered on Friday afternoon July 26th following a tip-off from an anonymous source. It was further learnt that angry youths were stopped from setting the warehouse ablaze.More photos below.

         Photos: Insurance director, Elizabeth Ndubuisi-Chukwu, killed in South Africa laid to rest.... The remains of Elizabeth Ndubisi-Chukwu, the deputy director-general of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) who was killed in controversial circumstances in her hotel room in South Africa, has been laid to rest. Ndubuisi-Chukwu was strangled to death in her hotel room in the Emperor Hotel Johannesburg on June 13th. She had left Nigeria to attend the African Insurance Organisation (AIO) conference in South Africa. Her dream of returning home to her husband and children was terminated by yet-to-be identified persons who killed her. While Ndubuisi-Chukwu was initially believed to have died in her sleep, an autopsy report from South Africa’s department of home affairs showed that she died of “unnatural causes consistent with strangulation”.        The Army Headquarters Department of Training and Operations (DATOPS), today Thursday 25 July 2019, held its maiden workshop for Commanders, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on the concept of "Super Camp" held at Headquarters 25 Task Force Brigade (Super Camp 2) Damboa, Borno state. Declaring the workshop open, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, represented by the Chief of Training and Operations (Army), Major General Enobong Udoh, charged the participants to take the workshop seriously, as the concept of the Super Camp is a force multiplier that allows for concentration of manpower and resources.       Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has advised the people of Rumuoro and Okporowo communities of Ogbakiri Town in Emohua Local Government Area to work towards the peaceful resolution of the land dispute in the area. Governor Wike gave the Chiefs and Elders of Rumoro and Okporowo Communities two weeks to resolve their differences for the entrenchment of peace.       Actress Queen Wokoma's estranged husband, Prince Kalada Allison, who shared a suicide note on his Instagram page last night, is currently on admission in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, after a failed suicide attempt. According to his close firends, he attempted to take his life but was quickly rescued and rushed to the hospital where he is currently being treated. His friends say Allison became depressed after his one-year marriage to Queen packed up a few months ago.        A 46-year-old notorious arms dealer, Godwin Chinyere, who was alleged to have sold most of the firearms, ammunition and rocket launchers used by billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Owuamadike, A.k.A Evans has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Led by DCP Kyari.
