EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.       Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, was guest lecturer at the National Defence College, in Abuja, Tuesday, with the governor being frank in engaging his audience, the participants of course 28, amongst them military officers and civilian policy makers from Nigeria and other foreign countries. VICE CHANCELLOR ACCUSED OF IMPREGNATING A 300LEVEL STUDENT.{PHOTO}.

        The Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) in Abia State, Prof Francis Otunta has been accused of impregnating a 300 level student of Accounting of the institution. The allegation was contained in a petition written by a member of the University’s Governing Council, Dr Nelson O’Amanze Udenze. In the petition made available to LIB, it was revealed that the Vice Chancellor was also accused of impregnating a third year female student of accounting in 2017.       The Nigeria Customs Service has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to assist it in realizing the 2020 revenue target handed to it by the Federal Government. M. B Boyi, Customs Area Controller, Port Harcourt made the appeal on Tuesday January 28, 2020 during a courtesy visit to the Command by the Port Harcourt Zonal Head of the EFCC, Usman Imam. Boyi disclosed that while the Federal Gov ernment gave the Service a revenue target of N1.5trillion for 2020, the agency has a more ambitious projection of N2trillion. "Last year, government gave us a revenue target of N1trillion. We delivered N1.3trillion. This year, 2020, N1.5trillion is the target. But instead of N1.5trillion the management said we should make it N2trillion. We will do what we could to meet our target in this Command. This collaboration will help us.      Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of a Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, adjourned the trial of Abba Moro, a former Minister of Interior to February 25. Moro is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) for procurement fraud and money laundering and for allegedly defrauding Nigerian applicants who applied for employment in Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to the tune  of N675,675,000 (Six Hundred and Seventy-five Million, Six Hundred and Seventy-five Thousand Naira). The amount represents N1,000 obtained from each applicant through e-payment for the online recruitment exercise on March 15, 2014 - an exercise in which 15 applicants died with scores injured due to the ministry’s shoddy preparations for the exercise.
