The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits.  Hawaiian inmate escapes jail only to be fatally struck by vehicle while he was attempting to elude guards.  Mathew Ornellas Jr. passed away Thursday after being struck by a vehicle during a daring jail escape last Friday.  According to officials, Ornellas scaled a razor wire fence at Kauai community correctional center. Guards began chasing him but lost sight of him when he entered a brushy area. Moments later they heard a loud sound from a nearby road and went to investigate.  They soon discovered Ornellas lying on the side of Kuhio Highway suffering from serious injuries.  He was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition until he passed away Thursday.  Ornellas was a minimum security inmate serving time on a drug conviction.  The driver who struck him fled the scene and is still at large.  A physically challenged man has been arrested by officers from Akinpelu Division. Information was received from concerned Nigerians that he was a drug dealer. Upon his arrest, his bag was searched and found in his possession were weed suspected to be Indian hemp and tramadol capsulescapsules.  Investigation is ongoing to apprehend his supplier and others in the supply chain.  Pennsylvania man dresses up as Ghostface from Scream, then takes the life of his neighbor with a chainsaw and knife.  30-year-old Zak Moyer was charged with criminal homicide in connection to the Monday death of his neighbor 59-year-old Edward Whitehead Jr. Police in Leighton Borough, Pennsylvania were called to the scene of an active assault Monday afternoon.  Once on scene they discovered Whitehead with a large puncture wound in the side of his head and multiple cuts to his head, arms and hands. He was extracted from the home and taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. After viewing the security video from Whitehead's home they observed a man dressed in a black robe and face mask depicting the antagonist in the Scream movie franchise. They were able to determine the assailant was Zak Moyer, Whitehead's next door neighbor. Police quickly surrounded his home and called state police for backup and began negotiations with the suspect. 17-YEAR-OLD TEXAS MAN WHO CROSSED CENTER LINE AND CRASHED INTO A VAN KILLING AN ENTIRE FAMILY OF 6 IS FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES. (PHOTO).

 17-year-old Texas man who crossed center line and crashed into a van killing an entire family of 6 is facing multiple charges. He wasn't arrested initially because of a medical condition. He was bailed out before he had to spend the night in jail.  Luke Resecker is being charged with 6 counts of intoxication manslaughter, 2 counts of intoxication assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of Marijuana. He was released on 50,000.00 bond. These charges stem from the December 26th accident in which Resecker crossed the center line in a no passing zone and crashed head on into a Honda Odyssey occupied by Lokesh Potabathula's entire family. 6 people were killed including Lokesh's wife and 2 children, his wife's parents and his cousin. Lokesh was the only survivor in the Odyssey.  Resecker never spent a night in jail due to ongoing medical issues and his bond was paid once it was set by the court. 2 TENNESSEE RESOURCES OFFICERS GO THE EXTRA MILE TO HELP A STRUGGLING TEEN. (PHOTO).

 2 Tennessee resource officers go the extra mile to help a struggling teen. When LA Vergne High School resource officers learned a student was homeless and living in a broken down van they stepped up to do what they could. The teens situation came to light back in January when the schools coordinator for the ATLAS program, which provides services for families in transition, learned of a 17- year-old's situation.  The coordinator found a shelter the student could stay in, however his van was broken down. This is when Cody Didier and Jeremy Gregory, both resource officers, stepped in. The two teamed up and were able to get the student a new alternator that was donated by the local AutoZone.  They then teamed up with students to install the alternator.  After installing the alternator the officers realized the van was out of gas and pooled their money to fill his tank.  Veteran Actor, Zack Orji travels to the United Kingdom for a post-surgery check up His photographs taken at the airport before his departure were shared on Friday. The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, had in an interview revealed that Orji underwent two successful brain surgeries and now requires a post-surgery evaluation abroad. News emerged on social media on Tuesday that the ailing thespian had died. However,  Rollas urged the public to disregard the rumours, saying the actor is alive.  UCH: Patients, staff groan as power outage persists over accumulated debt Patients and their relatives, as well as staff of University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan are currently groaning over the total power outage in the hospital. The tertiary health institution is currently experiencing total blackout as a result of the disconnection of the hospital from the national grid by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC). It could be recalled that the IBEDC on Tuesday, 19th March, 2024, cut off power supply to the hospital over accumulated debt. IBEDC said the supply was cut off due to over N400 million accumulated debt by the hospital. However, the hospital management said its debt was N241 million. DAILY POST correspondent, who visited the hospital on Wednesday, gathered that the disconnection of the hospital from the national grid is negatively affecting major activities.  ALEX OTTI SPEAKS ON PAYMENT OF PENSION ARREARS, ANNOUNCES RECONSTRUCTION OF OBOHIA, OHANKU ROADS IN ABA.  Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has announced the commencement of work to reconstruct the dilapidated Obohia Road, while work on Ohanku Road, both in Aba, will begin immediately after the Easter holidays. This comes as the Abia Governor also declared that  pensioners, who were owed several months arrears of pensions by previous administrations, can now heave a sigh of relief as they will effective today, March 28, 2024, begin to receive arrears of their pensions.  NON-KINETIC APPROACH, KEY TO COUNTERINSURGENCY OPERATIONS - THEATRE COMMANDER The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maj Gen W Shaibu, has said the non - kinetic approach is a panacea to enhancing counterinsurgency operations in the NE. He disclosed this when he received a delegation from the Accra Initiative (AI) for Regional Strand on Non-kinetic Strategy in Combatting Insurgency, led by the National Coordinator Security Governance Initiative and Adviser to the Chief of Defence Staff on non-kinetic, Hon Aliyu Ibrahim Gebi at the Headquarters Theatre Command Maiduguri, today 29 March 2024.
