                  A Saudi Arabian oil tanker that had been hijacked on February  1 8,was recovered by the Nigeria Navy today,and the Navy killed one of the hijackers in a fierce gun-battle and arrested 6 others.The tanker,Maximus,had  1 8 crew members,including  1 0 Indian sailors,when it was hijacked off Ivory Coast's waters.Two of the crew are still missing after they were taken hostage by two pirates who escaped in another vessel.The hostages are believed to be from Indian and Pakistan.Bare-chested and handcuffed,the men were paraded in front of local and internationa; media as the Nigerian naval officers described how they stormed the ship on saturday and arrested the pirates off the coast of Sao Tome and Principe,West Africa.The sspected hijackers,all Nigerians,were named as Captain Mike Ugborama,Ayo Joshuaa,Marcus Adesoji,Adeyemi Paul,Oluwafemi Samuel and Collins Friday.Among the haul recovered from the ship were AK47s,ma...

                             British popular novelist who passed away five months ago at the age of 77 of cancer,her mansion in Beverly Hills was put up for sale at $30 million.Sources revealed that the 20,000 square-foot mansion was designed by Jackie Collins her self.The 8 bedroom mansion was completed in  1 992 after it was bought for $2 million dollars in the  1 988 by her late second husband Oscar Lerman.The roughly -acre property includes an outdoor motor court and a swimming pool with a cabana,as well as a guest house that contains offices,a gym and sauna,and the screening room.More photos below.              

                It was reported today that the minister for the Niger Delta Usani Uguru said yesterday monday that Nigeria plans to train as many as  1 0,000 youths a year for skilled work in the Delta region to try to stop them attacking and stealing oil from pipelines.He said that Between 5,000 and  1 0,000 will be trained yearly.The first centers would train young people in leather goods manufacturing,mobile phone assembly and e-commerce.Some would also find work at a new processing plant for cassava,part of the government's plan to boost the agricultural sector.Attacks on oil and gas facilities have become more frequent since authorities issued an arrest warrant for a popular former militant leader,Government Ekpemupolo Tompolo,who had led gangs of boys fighting for a bigger share of oil revenues.To help address those grievances,the government plans to build nine vocational centers.One more photo below.         ...

                      According to sources,the Lagos State Government today tuesday said plans are already underway to establish a first ever DNA Forensic Laboratory in Nigeria in furtherance of its commitment to reforms in the justice sector and its resolve to tackle all forms of criminal activities headlong.The lab,which would be known as the Lagos State DNA Forensics Centre {LSDFC},is expected to take off within the next six to twelve months.Addressing Journalists at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa,the State Attorney General aand Commissioner for Justice,Mr.Adeniji Kazeem said the establishment of the centre was another proof of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's sincerity and seriousness towards fighting all forms of criminality.According to him,when fully operational,the Centre would fulfull an unmet need for DNA profiling which is a unique forensic technique that is now being used all over the world.Kazeem,who addressed jou...

               Today the Queen of England visited the Crossrail site at Bond Street where she met with engineers,construction workers,Transport for London staff and apprentices to hear about the project.Whilst there,The Queen unveiled a plaque to mark Crossrail   1 's naming as the ''Elizabeth Line'',a celebration of Her Majesty's 90th year.Crossrail is a new metro rail line that will run for  1 1 8km from Reading and Heathrow in the west,through new tunnels under Central London,to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.Opening in 20 1 8,it will carry an estimated 200 million passengers a year.Congrats to her and The Queen looks so elegant in Purple.More photos below.                                                                               ...
