  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. LAGOS EMPLOYS 250 PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS IN ONE YEAR.{PHOTOS}.

       The Lagos State Government has disclosed that it has provided direct employment to 250 persons living with disabilities in the last one year to the mainstream civil service and local governments respectively. The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Agboola Dabiri made this known today at the ongoing Y2018 Ministerial Press Briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Secretariat, Alausa in commemoration of the third year in office of Governor Ambode’s administration. He said that the employment opportunities given to this category of people had greatly assisted in ameliorating their standard of living and making them more financially independent.         The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, arraigned Sen.Peter Nwaoboshi before Justice Muhammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a two-count charge bordering on money laundering and fraud to the tune of N805million.        The Federal Government will not allow miscreants to stoke up a religious conflict by making it impossible for anyone to preach the gospel or even for Muslims to worship in their mosques, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. According to the Vice President, “It is not only a heinous sacrilege but high wickedness to kill persons in a place of worship.      The Chief of Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai today commissioned the new Army War College Nigeria Complex situated in WU Bassey Barracks, Abuja. The multi-billion naira edifice was built and completed by the current leadership of the Nigerian Army within a space of four months. Speaking at the event, Gen. Buratai said the establishment of the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) was to basically develop the capacities of Nigerian Army officers at the operational level.
