 Abuja Court Jails Two Internet Fraudsters The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 secured the conviction and sentence of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms. The convicts, Adeleye Olanrewaju and Ayo Olaosebiomo were convicted by Justice I. Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory,  FCT,  High Court Gwagwalada on a one- count charge each. The lone- count charge against Olanrewaju  reads: ‘that you Adeleye Olanrewaju sometime in 2024 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court committed the offence of cheating by personation when you pretended to be one Lolita Gonzale293 female American citizen when you created a fake Instagram account for love scam and benefitted the sum of $460 (Four Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars) from your victim John Alonzo and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 321 and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004”.   They both

EFCC CLOSES MONEY LAUNDERING CASE AGAINST EX-GOVERNOR OF NASARAWA STATE 'AKWE DOMA',YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}

                                           The trial of a former governor of Nasarawa State,Aliyu Akwe Doma,and two others,continued on June 23,2016,with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,presenting its ninth witness,as it  closed its case against the accused persons.Akwe Doma,alongside Timothy Anthony Anjide,a former Secretary to the State Government,and Dauda Egwa,a former Accountant-General,are being prosecuted by the EFCC on a 10-count charge bordering on money laundering and financial crimes.The accused persons between January 2007 and December 2009 allegedly conspired and fraudulently laundered state funds to the tune of N8bn,an offence contrary to Section 14 {1} {a} of the Money Laundering {Prohibition } Act 2004 and punishablee under section 14 {1} of the same Act.At yesterday's hearing,PW 9,Abdulrazaq Salawu,an operative with the EFCC,told the court how he met the defendants,following different petitions and intelligence report received by the Commission.Le

A TRUCK DRIVER WAS SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS YESTERDAY,FOR FAILING TO MAKE WAY FOR MUGABE'S MOTORCADE IN ZIMBABWE.

                       According to sources,a Zimbabwe truck driver was sentenced to two years in prison for failing to make way for President Robert Mugabe's motorcade.The truck driver is identified as Joseph Chakantesa was also banned for life from driving trucks by a Harare Court yesterday thursday,which charged him with negligent driving and ignoring Presidential convoy.The incident took place on saturday when the Presidents motorcade of more than 10 cars and motorbikes was heading to President's home in uptown Harare.the 28 year old driver was arrested about 10 kilometres from the scene of the incident after attempting to escape by driving through traffic lights and at times in wrong lanes.Joseph Chakanetsa said that the ERF tipper truck was making a lot of noise,making it difficult for him to hear external noises.He was also given an option to pay $100 fine for failing to stop and a $200 fine for ignoring the officers instruction.One more photo below.

                              15 year old Ghana born actor Abraham Attah,lands a major role in the upcoming American superhero film 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' after his breakthrough movie,Beasts of No Nation,won him the Best Male lead award at this year's Independent Spirit Awards fortifying him as a rising star.'Spider-Man:Homecoming' is intended to be the second reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise and the sixteenth film of the marvel Cinematic Universe {MCU}.The movie will be directed by Jon Watts.His role has in the movie has not been disclosed yet.More photos below.                    

LASPEMA,HAS JUST ISSUED CONTRAVENTION NOTICES ON SOME DISTRESSED BUILDINGS IN AJEGUNLE.{PHOTOS}.

                     The Lagos State Government through its agency,Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority {LASPEMA} has issued contravention notices on some distressed buildings in Ajegunle and some other parts of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area of the State.The contravention notices follows an inspection tour by officials of the agency who decried the unlivable state of over thirteen buildingd in the area which is already structurally unstable.According to the Agency's Acting General Manager,Engineer Olanrewaju Kazeem who led the inspection team to these areas,he bemoaned the state state of these buildings,adding that such buildings are not befitting of the status of the state in addition to the dangers it poses to its inhabitants and neighbours.The Acting General Manager added that the defaulters of such buildings had been issued 48 hours contravention notices,while further compliance monitoring was recommended in some other cases.Kazeem disclosed tha
