 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

BRITISH GOVT CERTIFIES EFCC OPERATIVES AS 'INTERVIEW INVESTIGATION EXPERTS' TODAY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The British government has certified operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as Interview Investigation Experts. The certification followed a two-week intensive training for operatives of the Commission who were selected from various zonal offices across the country. The Coordinator, National Crime Agency Anti-Corruption Projects, NCAACP, Paddy Kerr, while presenting ce rtificates to participants at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja on Friday, March 29, 2019, said the British Government and the EFCC made the investment which is aimed at honing the investigative skills of the operatives for a better performance in the fight against corruption. According to Kerr, the training was part of the series of planned training by the British Government for the EFCC in supporting the fight against corruption. Kerr encouraged the participants to put everything they learnt during their two weeks stay at the Academy into use when they return to their stations. In

        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Friday, March 29, 2019, arraigned Floriana De Stefani, an Italian, and Stella Ndubusi Ogboru before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a five-count charge bordering on forgery and stealing of a property belonging to a company, Waterside Properties Limited. One of the counts reads: "That you, Mrs. Flori ana De Stefani and Stella Ndubusi Ogboru, sometime in the year 2015 at Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division of this Honourable Court, with dishonest intention, forged document titled, "Deed Of Assignment Dated 1983 Prepared By Rosamond O. Bakare", purported to have been entered between Mr. E.A. Abayomi Lowo on behalf of Waterside Properties Limited, on the first part and the late Luca Signorelli and Mrs. Floriana De Stefani, on the second part." LAGOS REDUCES PENAL FEES ON PLANNING PERMIT FROM 400% TO 200%.#PRESS RELEASE..

         In its continuous effort to make Lagos an orderly and environmentally sustainable smart city, the State Government has announced the reduction of the Penal Fee on Planning Permit from 400% to 200% as a post-amnesty enhancement. The General Manager Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), Tpl. Funmi Osifuye, in a release issued on Thursday, said Governor Akinwunmi Ambode granted the approval for the reduction coverin g the period between January – December, 2019 in order to consolidate on the gains of the previous year amnesty period in respect of the grant of Planning Permit. According to him, under the Lagos State Urban and Regional Planning Law 2010, obtaining Planning Permit is a must for any physical development in the state irrespective of the landowner to ensure that structures are built in the right way and place, as well as to balance development and ensure that such development and growth are environmentally sustainable. Online Journalist Princess Aladegoroye is currently receiving treatment as we speak at a General hospital since being admitted yesterday when the fight happened. I spoke to her through the phone this afternoon and she explained how she was assaulted by the staff of Ikeja Electric yesterday.
