Fidelity Bank donates vehicle to Enugu State Government for security surveillance In keeping with its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, Fidelity Bank Plc, yesterday, donated a brand new Toyota Hilux van to Enugu State Government, for security surveillance in the state. Presenting the Toyota Hilux van to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, alongside the new Regional Head (Enugu/Ebonyi), Fidelity Bank Plc, Chiwetalu Nwatu, the bank’s outgoing Regional Head (Enugu/Ebonyi), Charles Chukwu, said the gesture was “to support the security in Enugu State”. "For the most part of my years of marriage, my wife has continued to pull a coup on me every 28th of July. Today, as usual, Nonye in connivance with family, friends and members of the Anambra State Executive Council pulled another birthday surprise on me. I can only thank providence for yet another privilege of marking another birthday. I remember, in a special way, my age mates who have journeyed to the great beyond, and all those killed needlessly. It is my prayer that God accept their souls in paradise and grant us the grace to ensure that their death is not in vain. I celebrate our lives. I celebrate our State. I celebrate providence. I thank you all for the good wishes. I'll be proceeding to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Awka custodial centre where I will be celebrating with the inmates. Nnewi: Turkey Based Man Escapes Assassination Over Land Matter A 36-year old Nnewi son, who is based in Turkey, Mr Chinedu Arinze narrowly escaped death at the weekend in the hands of operatives of the Police Rapid Response Squad (RSS) in Nnewi, Anambra State, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. Trouble allegedly started for the Turkey based who just visited Nigeria when he went to a Magistrate court in Nnewi for an affidavit of his sibling who intends to travel out of the country soon. A prominent legal practitioner based in the commercial town who wouldn’t want his name in print, was said to have sent a petition to the police that the 36 year old Arinze is a member of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra(IPOB) and a kidnapper. N43.5m Fraud: EFCC Arraigns Woman for Theft in Lagos   The Lagos Command of the EFCC on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, arraigned one Miracle Enondano, alongside SGMX Resources Limited, before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on an eight-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and theft to the tune of N43.5 million. EFCC Arrests 13 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Port Harcourt Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 13 suspected internet fraudsters. They were nabbed in the early hours of Thursday, July 28, 2022, in a sting operation at various locations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Thirteen (13) suspects are: Austin Fama, Victor Lucky, Victor Apugo, Emeka Chukwu, Tariesi Ego, Best Okon Akpan, Kenneth Ekeke, Divine Umoh, Abasii Bianuake, Life Attai, Daniel Assor, Orji Michael Kelechi and John Amadi. Their arrests followed actionable intelligence received by the Commission on their alleged involvement in internet fraud Items recovered from them include cars, mobile phones of different brands, ATM Cards and Laptop computers.

GOV AKEREDOLU ALLAYS FEARS OVER OWO SHOOTING  Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said that the Wednesday shooting at the yard of the Craneburg Construction Company in Owo was aimed at destroying some of their equipment and not to maim or kill anyone.  Governor Akeredolu, who visited the construction site in company of Heads of Security Agencies in the State including the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Chief Tunji Adeleye, urged the people not to panic.  The Governor was also accompanied to the yard by the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr.
