EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

A FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA,GRANTED RAYMOND DOKPESI BAIL TODAY.

                           Today monday,a Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail to Raymond Dokpesi,who is standing trial over alleged more than  two billion naira fraud.In a ruling Justice Gabriel Kolawole granted bail to Raymond Dokpesi in the sum of N400 million and two sureties in like sum.He said that each surety must have a landed property with two hundred million naira each.Justice Kolawle said that one of the sureties must be a serving or retired civil servant of the rank of a director in either the Federal or State Civil service.He further said if retired,the srety must show a retirement letter indicating the organisation where he or she had served.The second surety must be a private entrepreneur with evidence of three years tax clearance certificate and a verifiable landed property worth two hundred million naira.The sureties must sign an undertaking of forfeiture of the property to the Federal Government,in the event that the defendant did not make himself available for tr

TWO GIRLS WEARING EXPLOSIVE VESTS,WERE SHOT DOWN BY SECURITY FORCES IN CAMEROON TODAY.

                 Today monday security forces armed guns and arrows killed two young women wearing explosive vests in a north Cameroon town,in which they are suspected to be Boko Haram members.The would be suicide bombers,described as adolescent girls,entered Kolofata just before dawn.Witnesses said ''The first suicide bomber {kamikaze} exploded near my house...When she entered,the local vigilance committee fired an arrow at her head and she set off her bomb.The other young woman was shot by special forces,known by their French initials BIR''.There were no reports of anyone else being killed or wounded in the town about 6 miles from the Nigerian border.

                        According to pressmen,four policemen attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad,Lagos Police Command,have been remanded in prison,in Benin city Edo stat,for allegedly killing a car dealer,Benson Obode.The four policemen identified as 33 year old Adedeji Adeleke,34 year old Oniyo Musa,33 year old Abena John and thirty two year old Henry Shobowal,who came to Edo state to investigate a report on a stolen car and arrested the late Benson Obode on May twenty first.According to pressmen,it took the family of the deceased 63 days to locate the mortuary where his corpse was deposited.The ATM card of the deceased was collected and over two hundren thousand naira was withdrawn from the account.The state's Commissioner of police,Chris Ezike who briefed journalist on the incident,said the four policemen were arrested after Homicide Detectives from force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department were ordered to take over the case.Ezike said the four policemen were t

FLYOVER BRIDGE FOR AJAH AND ABULE-EGBA,HAS BEEN APPROVED BY LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT.

                   The Lagos State Government has approved the construction of flyover bridges for two of the stat;s high density traffic zones,Ajah round about and Abule Egba junction.The repairs of 300 roads across the state in six months was also approved.The two major projects were approved by the state's Executive council and have been duly awarded to contractors for a speedy commencement of work.In a press release issued yesterday sunday,by the state's Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Steve Ayorinde,the projects will be completed within 16 months as part of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's ongoing road infrastructure projects across the state.The statement said the construction of the reinforced concrete flyover and signalized intersection at Ajah roundabout will be undertaken simultaneously with the rehabilitation of Freedom Road in Lekki,with a view to reducing the heavy traffic being recorded at the Ajah round-abot and the Lekki-Ikoyi axis.Ayorinde said the
