EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                           Today thursday,a 91 year old woman identified as Mrs Rosaline Ololo,led a protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly against the taking over of her family's school by the state government.The Metropolitan College and the Isolo Secondary School,which she said was owned by her family,was allegedly taken over by the military government in 1976 leading to her husband's death.She said that when the schools were taken over by the military,she was not compensated.In a letter presented to the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa,the protesters demanded the return of the schools.According her counsel Malcom Omirhobo''We have the instruction of our client to appeal to you to investigate the basis for the refusal,neglect and/or failure of the Lagos State Government to return Metropolitan College and Isolo Secondary schools to their original owner.We have met with the executive and submitted series of letters but nothing has been done.We only need lawmakers to help

                     Today thursday ex-Governor Amaechi was screened for a ministerial post that is not yet known to the public.The Minority Leader,Godwill Akpabio,first told the Senate that the PDP caucus would not ask him any question since the report of the Senate Committee on Ethics,Privileges and Public Petitions had been debated by the Senate.But the Majority Leader,Ali Ndume,suggested that Mr.Amaechi should take a bow and go,saying one of his duties as Senate leader was to market the ministerial nominees.How ever,the Senate President Bukola Saraki,ensured he was asked questions,leaving the moment for All Progessives Congress,APC,senators alone.While fielding questions from the senators,Mr.Amaechi said he disliked corruption,adding that he was not indicted in the whole report of the Judicial Commission of the Inquiry of River State.Amaechi said ''There is nowhere in the report of the Judicial committe,not {even} the whit paper by the governor,that i am indicted for corrup

                                 According to a government official in Cameroon who said today thursday that eight villagers in Cameroon's Far North region were killed in a raid by Boko Haram that was followed by a gun battle between militants and security forces.Babila Akaou,Prefect for the Mayo-Sava district,referring to the overnight assault in the village of Doulo said that ''Wednesday's attacks killed eight and wounded nine.For security forces and Boko Haram militants,we do not yet have a death toll''.Everyday i pray to God to touch the heart of these Boko Haram to surrender and lets have peace in Nigeria/Africa.

GOOGLE IS SET TO BUY A 12% STAKE,IN A KENYA POWER PROJECT.

                        According to sources,International IT company ''Google'',is set to buy a 12 percent stake in the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project in Kenya,a project which is expected to generate 15% of the nation's energy.Google Energy Lead for Africa,Joe Mucheru said that Africa was a great place to invest and energy is a key demanded for the market.According to Mucheru,Africa is a fast growing economy that needs more renewable resources.Mucheru says the cost of thermal energy,diesel generation is too high especially with the growing economy and he believes it is a good investment for Google because it allows them to be involved in a trans-formative project that will provide roads and lines for Kenya and that it is in line with its existing energy investments into other markets.This is going to be the largest wind investment within Africa and it is hoped it will attract more  investment into the energy sector.Mucheru says it has invested in 22 projects,two o

AMBODE INAUGURATED A 5 MAN TRIBUNAL TODAY,TO INVESTIGATE THE MURDER OF TAJUDEEN DISU.

                       Today thursday,Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode,inaugurated a five man Tribunal of Enquiry to investigate the civil unrest in Ibeju Lekki area of the state on October 12,which led to the gruesome murder of the Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited,Alhaji Tajudeen Disu.Disu was reportedly killed while resolving a land dispute between members of Okunraye Community and some private companies embarking on various massive projects with the Lekki Free Trade Zone.The Governor,while inaugurating the Tribunal,said as a responsive and responsible government,it had become necessary for his administration to set up a Tribunal to investigate the remote cause of the unrest with the view to forestalling future re-occurrence.He said the unrest,if not properly managed and addressed,could lead to total breakdown of law and order,adding that the government was desirous of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.The Governor added that as a responsib
