Dancerand actress Carla Laemmie,passed away at the age of 104.She was found dead at her Lo Angeles home on thursday 12 June 2014 night and her caretaker Josephine Delavega confirmed her death to the press.She was best known for playing the prima ballerina in 1925 The Phantom of the Opera.She also appeared as a secretary in 1931 Dracula.Her uncle was a co founder of the Universal studio.She also acted in Uncle Tom's Cabin,The Broadway Melody,Mystery of Edwin Drood,His Last Fling,and the Adventures of Frank Merri Well.She took a break from stardom after starring as a Ballet Dancer in 1939 On Your Toes and worked at dance clubs in the interim.In 2010,she starred as Zelda in Pooltime.Her life also inspired a documentary,titled Among the Rugged Peaks The Carla Laemmie story which was made in 2011 and narrated by Sally Kirkland.She was born in Chicago in 1909 but relocated to Los Angeles in 1921.Throughout her years,she never married but she is known ...
