 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.   The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said it was time urgent and pragmatic steps are taken in settling the farmer-herder clashes to guide against its snowballing into an unstoppable crisis. Governor Abiodun, who stated this at a stakeholders parley on farmer-herder conflict held at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, wondered why people who had lived together for years are now turning against each other. "It has become worrisome that people who had co-existed peacefully for years are suddenly at each other’s throat on account of sources of livelihood.   The House of Representatives has asked the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a speedy and thorough investigation into the recent violence in Oyo State, to allow for prosecution and punishment of those who instigated and participated in the killings and destruction of property. Speaker of the House, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, who announced this in an address on the Shasha violence and the rising spate of inter-ethnic violence in the country at Tuesday's plenary, said the House would not sit back while Nigerians are killed by their fellow countrymen. He said the Committees on Police Affairs and Justice were mandated to communicate the House's position to the Inspector General of Police. LAGOS TO VACCINATE 1.5 MILLION DOGS AGAINST RABIES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  The Lagos State Government has disclosed that no fewer than 1.5 million dogs will be vaccinated within the next two weeks, during the free anti-rabies vaccination campaign embarked upon to prevent deaths of animals in the State. The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya stated this today at the flag-off of the vaccination campaign held at the palace of Oba Ayangburen of Ikorodu. She noted that Lagos pioneered the campaign exercise in the country, stating that the vaccination would take place yearly for the next three years to be effective on dogs. Olusanya observed that a lot of the dogs in the State are not registered or licensed hence a lot of rabid dogs could be on the prowl, stressing the need for vaccination to prevent rabies. The Commissioner urged pet owners as responsible citizens to bring their dogs and cats for the exercise, noting that the State Government, being a responsive government, has made the exercise free of charge for the citizenry.
