 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.  Governor Zulum announced additional released of One Billion for the immediate completion of Maiduguri Monday Market reconstruction.  ... Urged for completion of project within a time frame of thirty-five days.  Borno Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, released additional One Billion Naira for the immediate completion of the reconstruction of Maiduguri Monday Market.  The announcement was made during the Governor's visit to the market, where he was received by Alh. Zarami Dungu, the chairman of the high-powered committee on Monday market fire disaster. Governor Zulum expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the reconstruction during his inspection and urged for the completion of the project within a time frame of thirty-five days.  He also reassured the marketers that the market will be reopened soon and urged them to be patient. The LLT Learning Platform initiatives launched in 2021 in physical and digital formats with regular updates was conceived by the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) to promote distance/remote learning, and to ensure continuity in learning, especially during emergencies/long vacations. It was designed for learners to serve as additional resources to the existing learning curriculum or scheme of work. Currency in circulation hits N2.60trn — up by 88% in six months Nigeria’s currency in circulation climbed to N2.60 trillion in June 2023, representing the highest in the year. Currency in circulation (CIC) is the amount of cash in paper notes or coins issued by the apex bank to conduct transactions. According to the latest data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the figure rose by 88 percent from N1.39 trillion in January to N2.60 trillion in June 2023. The amount of currency in circulation in Nigeria fluctuated in the first half of 2023. In January, it stood at N1.39 trillion and fell to N982,097 billion in February. However, currency circulation rose to N1.68 trillion in March. In April, May, and June, it increased to N2.48 trillion, N2.53 trillion, and N2.60 trillion, respectively. In October 2022, the CBN announced that it would be redesigning three of the existing banknotes: the N200, N500, and N1000 notes.  MAN NABBED FOR ALLEGED THEFT IN JOS BLAMES HARDSHIP 31st July, 2023      A family man was nabbed for allegedly stealing in Dong village,  Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.   The suspect, who was caught on Sunday, July 30, 2023, claimed that hardship drove him into stealing.  According to him, he searched for a job but couldn’t get one so he sent his family back to Kaduna State and resorted to stealing.   It was gathered that the suspect was earlier caught stealing before the latest incident.    The post Man nabbed for alleged theft in Jos blames hardship appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

In collaboration with the bus unions, 25% off all yellow buses (danfo) fares will be communicated officially by the unions.  Additionally, I'm pleased to announce a 50% fare reduction on all LagFerry routes. This will provide more accessible and affordable transportation options for our residents.  Recognizing the importance of affordable healthcare, I'm directing our General Hospitals to offer free ante-natal services and delivery; normal and C-section services.
