 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. AS OPERATION RATTLE SNAKE CONTINUES, NAF FIGHTER JETS OBLITERATE A TERRORISTS MEETING VENUE AT KOLLARAM IN BORNO STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       In continuation of Operation RATTLE SNAKE, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has neutralized some Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters as they assembled for a meeting at their hideout in Kollaram on the fringes of Lake Chad in the Northern part of Borno State. The operation was executed on 14 December 2019 following credible  intelligence reports indicating that some of the ISWAP leaders had assembled for a meeting in one of 2 buildings at the centre of the settlement. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets dispatched by the ATF to attack the location scored accurate hits on the target building completely obliterating it and killing its terrorists’ occupants. The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast.      APC Chieftain, Idde Is Dead A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Zakari Abdullahi Idde is dead, a family source confirms. Idde, former National Vice Chairman (N/Central) of the ruling party died after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jabi, Abuja-FCT. His remains will be buried according to Islamic rites on Monday, December 16 at his Hometown of N/Eggon, Nasarawa State.May His Soul Rest In Peace,Amen.

COURT JAILS FIFTEEN FRAUDSTERS IN ENUGU.{PHOTOS}.

      The EFCC, Enugu Zonal office secured the conviction of fifteen (15) fraudsters on 9th and 11th December, 2019. They were convicted before Justice I.N Buba of the Federal High court, sitting in Enugu, Enugu state on separate one count charge bothering on Impersonation and Obtaining by False Pretences. The convicted internet fraudsters who were arrested at various locations at Enugu and Owerri are: Echebiri Vincent, Chinedu Ronald, Stan ley Dike, Oledibe Osinachi, Ibegbulem Precious Chinedu, John Samuel Chukwuemeka, Kanu Ikenna, Daniel Chinedu Prince, Noolisa Chisom, Vincent Okafor, Uchenna Nwosu, Nnmadi Maduekwe, Odinachi Micheal Somtochukwu, Temple Samuel and Chisom Ezeala. Their arrest followed intelligence obtained by the Commission that they were involved in internet fraud and living ostentatiously.More photos below.

EFCC ARRAIGNED GOMBE BOARD OF INTERNAL REVENUE OVER N47M FRAUD.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The EFCC Gombe Zonal office arraigned one Aishatu Yakubu, Mohammed Musa Mohammed, Wesley Kumusa Audu and Mijinyawa Sani Labaran before Justice Nehizena I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court, Gombe on twenty five (25) count charges bordering on Conspiracy, Obtaining Money by False Pretence and Money laundering. The defendants in their c apacities as former Executive Director, Admin and Finance; Executive Director, Tax Operation; Executive Director Tax and Audit and Executive Director Non Tax Operations respectively, allegedly connived among themselves to pay several allowances and benefits which amounted to N47million without government approval. They also raised fictitious contracts for which payments were released and diverted for their personal use. These payments were allegedly made from the national plate number account of the Board which is meant for remittance into the state IGR account.

     Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has allayed the fears of women in the state, assuring that more women will be brought into the state executive council, as well as agencies and boards in the state. Prince Abiodun, who noted that the recently released commissioners list was not exhaustive, said that new commissionership positions reserved exclusively for women would be unveiled shortly. The governor, who gave this assurance in a statement released in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Monday, said that the interests of women remained at the forefront of his administration's agenda and that his promise that women would play a pivotal role in his administration remained irreversible.        The Lagos State Government has assured Satellite Town residents of a lasting solution to the problems caused by the container terminal in the Ijegun/Egba community area of the State.
