      The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) derides the President Muhammadu Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for thinking that moving major events of its planned Presidential inauguration from May 29 to June 12, the democracy Day, can confer any form of legitimacy to the outcome of the rigged 2019 Presidential election. The PDP also asserts that inviting world leaders to the inauguration cannot confer international recognition for a stolen mandate. It is clear that the Buhari Presidency and the APC, being tormented by the guilt of violating our electoral processes, can no longer boldly approach the oath book on May 29, due to the burden of illegitimacy and now seeks refuge in the sanctity of June 12, our Democracy Day.       We have read reports insinuating that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and return to All Progressives Congress, APC. Such unfounded insinuations have grown stronger since the Governor's visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday. We wish to categorically state that Governor Ortom has no reason and no plan to leave PDP. As leader of the party in the state, the Governor enjoys a robust relationship with other PDP leaders and members at the state and national levels.      Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday commissioned the Bariga Waterfront Jetty, Five Transport Ferries and the Ilaje Road, saying that the development was a testament to the fact that the State’s integrated transport management system was firmly on track.       Zainab Aliyu, a Nigerian student who was detained in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking, arrived in Nigeria yesterday Monday after four months in detention. Zainab Aliyu, a 22-year-old student of the Maitama Sule University in Kano, had travelled to Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj alongside her mother and sister. she was arrested at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, Saudi Arabia in December 2018 because tramadol was found in a travelling bag that had her name tag , a banned drug in Saudi Arabia..She, however, arrived in Nigeria through the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano on Monday in the company of Ibrahim Abubakar, another Nigerian accused of the same crime.       Club owner breaks down as Abuja authorities demolish ‘N500 million’ Caramelo bar yesterday. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has demolished Caramelo Lounge, weeks after some girls were arrested at the popular Abuja night club. Early on Monday morning, bulldozers, under the supervision of some officials of the FCTA were seen demolishing the building allegedly without prior notice.However, the FCTA’s claim justifying the demolition is that the club is located in a residential area, saying, “the use of the building violates Abuja Master Plan.”.More photos below.
