The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State.  Ibadan explosion: Court sends three persons to prison A Federal High Court in Ibadan on Wednesday ordered the remand of a woman and two men for their roles in the January 16 Bodija explosion in Ibadan. The police charged Ramatu Camara, 47, Ganiu Malik, 20, and Abubakar Samasa, 64, with conspiracy, use of weapons of mass destruction, stockpiling of radioactive materials, and dispersal of biological weapons, but they pleaded not guilty to the charge. Justice E.U. Akpan ordered that they be remanded in the Agodi correctional centre, and adjourned the suit until April 11 for a hearing on their bail applications. The police prosecutor, Michael Ojeah, had informed the court that Camara, Malik, and Samasa were facing a five-count charge.   Appeal Court Affirms Abure As LP Chair, Fines Apapa N1m The Court Of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed Julius Abure as the Chairman of the Labour Party (LP). The Appellate Court also set aside the decision of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court which last year, restrained Abure and two others from parading themselves as national officers of the party. In the judgement delivered by Justice Hamma Barka, the Appellate Court held that the high court was wrong to have assumed jurisdiction on the matter. The Appellate Court also awarded a cost of One million Naira in favour of Abure and against the respondent, Lamidi Apapa. Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court had last year, granted and ex-parte order, ordering that Abure and two other national officers stop parading themselves as leaders of the party for allegedly forging national documents but the Appellate Court set the verdict aside. The petition for the impeachment of the deputy governor was read on Wednesday at a plenary session of the house. RETURN OF COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES ON MONDAY: CP ADEOYE VISITS ONITSHA, INTERACTS WITH SHUTTLE DRIVERS, ASSESSES SECURITY DEPLOYMENT By Chinyere Ogbuagu The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Aderemi Adeoye on Monday, visited the commercial city of Onitsha to assess the security deployment and also interacts with Shuttle drivers plying Upper Iweka Road to asertain the return of commercial activities in the area. While interacting with the shuttle drivers, the CP announced the lifting of curfew in Nnewi, Onitsha and Ogbaru by the State Government and urged them to be law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report acts of crime to the nearest police station or call the Command Control room number 07039194332 or the PRO- 08039334002 for any security related matter for prompt response.
