 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.   The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, has said that the Ministry paved the way for 27 different infrastructure projects across the State by delivering an equal number of Rights of Way (ROW) within two years. He said that the delivery of Right of Way is a critical aspect of any project, requiring the understanding and sacrifice of the people in the overriding public interest, as the removal of encumbering structures to accommodate the ROW and alignments of road infrastructures in particular was always a hard choice to make. "However, where the removal of structures to pave way for development is unavoidable, the Lagos State Government has been magnanimous in the consideration and payment of compensation", he said.   Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has ordered the suspension of a traditional chief, Ortar Agwa Mnyange Kwahar in Buruku Local Government Area of the state. Also, the governor directed the suspension of all youth groups and any of their activities in Yemakem. The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ngunan Adingi stated this in a statement she issued and made available to newsmen on Saturday. Mrs Adingi said that the suspension of the chief followed the crisis in Mbatyough Council Ward, Mbagen in the council area which led to the burning down of a widow, Mrs Shaade Nyihemba.   The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, at the weekend, reiterated his administration's commitment to complete road projects awarded but abandoned by the immediate past administration. Gov Abiodun said these roads have direct socioeconomic benefits on the residents of the state.
