 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

     Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that his administration has fundamentally reduced cases of multiple taxations, in order to encourage private investors. Governor Wike also stated that his administration has eliminated instances of harassment of businesses operating in the state. He spoke during the commissioning of the Port Harcourt Branch of Globus Bank on Thursday. He said: "We have stopped harassment of businesses and multiple taxations in the State. "As a result, several businessmen are trooping to the state. We have created the right environment for investors to operate." Governor Wike stated that the investments of the State Government in the security sector have paid off, as the state has been declared safe for investments by the United States Embassy in Nigeria.       Nollywood star actor turned director, Ramsey Nouah, turns 49 Yesterday. Ramsey Nouah (born Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr.; 19 December 1970) is a Nigerian actor and director. He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010. He made his directorial debut with the film Living in Bondage: Breaking Free in 2019.       The EFCC, on Thursday, December 19, 2019 commenced processes involved in the auctioning of 244 vehicles forfeited to the Federal Government by illegal oil dealers. The exercise was flagged-off by the Commission Secretary, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, together with a team of senior officers of the EFCC. The initial auctioning processes took off at the premises of the Police Officers Wives Association, POWA's open groun d in the old Government Reservation Area, G.R.A, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The processes involved allocation of bidding slots to registered auctioneers.        An internet fraudster, Onyebuchi Nwalozie Julius, is currently cooling off in one of the detention facilities of the EFCC, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for impersonating the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Emefiele. Onyebuchi, a native of Ngor-Okpala, Imo State, who said he is into Estate Management, confessed via verbal and written statements that he posed as the CBN Governor, Dr. Godwin Emefiele with email account: emefi legodwin586@yahoo.com to defraud his victims. He said he defrauded one Mr. Omar Es Sh Deeb, an Arab National, whom he said made payments to him through Western Union. He also confessed that he specialized in Business Email Compromise, BEC, and his modus operandi involves searching for email addresses via Google search and sending convincing emails to his prospective victims and defrauding them as soon as they fall prey to whatever scam he had planned out.Though Onyebuchi confessed to have benefited as much as N4.5million from his criminal
