 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana.                                                            The couple identified as Mr Daniel Okwuchukwu Chinemelum and Mrs Felicia Chidimma Chinemelum were returning home from Ekwenanyika Nri,a trip and on their way,got involved in a fatal accident along the Benin-Lagos Expressway on the 14th of January.They will be buried in their home town at Umudiana in the Ekwenayika area of Nri in Anaocha LG of Anambra State.They are survived by their 2 little sons,age parents,brothers and sisters,May their souls rest in peace Amen.

            The Royal British Army has expressed readiness to assist the Nigerian military in training support and capacity building in the effort to bring an end to insurgency in the North East. The Defence Adviser to the United Kingdom in Nigeria,Brigadier General Charles Calder who assumed duty recently made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Acting General Officer Commanding {GOC} 7 Division Nigeria Army,Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu. General Charles said that the UK Government will significantly expand its training assistance to all Nigerian Army training institutions.The Acting GOC commended the UK Government for previous supports and training given by the British Military Assistance Training Team {BMATT} geared towards capacity building and development of personnel of the Division.                   The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed an application filed by a former Lagos Curt Registrar,Oluronke Rosulu,who was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by Ikeja High Court for defrauding a former Chief of Army Staff,Lt-Gen.Ishaya Bamaiyi {retd} of $330,000. Rosolu had been convicted by Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of the Lagos High Court,Ikeja on the two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretences brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on December 21,2015. Consequently,the appellant,through her lawyer filed a notice of appeal on December 30,2015,challenging her conviction.However,in a judgement delivered on friday,the Court of Appeal dismissed her appeal and affirmed the decision of the lower court.Rosulu had aided Fred Ajudua,a one-time Lagos socialite,to defraud Bamiayi when they were both remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison,Lagos for different of...
