 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Court Jails Internet Fraudster One Year in Port Harcourt Justice E .A. Obile of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has convicted and sentenced Nnaemeka Chinedu (a.k.a. Gibson George) to two years imprisonment for impersonation. He was convicted on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 after pleading “guilty” to one- count charge bordering on impersonation upon his arraignment by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the EFCC. Chinedu (a.k.a. Gibson Georgia) on or about 28th June, 2021 in Ada George, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, did impersonate one Gibson Georgia using linkedin account Gibsson with the intent to gain advantage and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2) (b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act, 2015, and punishable under section 22(2)(b) of the same Act.

Buhari’s Order: Sowore Asks Osinbajo To Resign  Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s order, asking all his Ministers vying for political positions in the forthcoming general elections to resign, a popular Nigerian activist and 2023 presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore has asked the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo to also resign. GUNMEN HAVE KILLED 4-PEOPLE INCLUDING TWO BROTHERS IN ANAMBRA STATE IN THE LAST THREE DAYS.(PHOTOS).

Gunmen have k1lled four people including two brothers in Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Government Areas of Anambra State in the last three days. The latest development is coming few days after gunmen k1lled five people at a beer parlour in Osumenyi, Nnewi South. The brothers identified as Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi and Nnajiofor Modobi, of the same parents, were k1lled in Ukpor, the Headquarters of Nnewi South on Monday, May 2.  Two others were mürdered along Udorji Road, beside St. Mary’s Church, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo on Monday May 2.  Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi popularly known as Obere was a former Youth Chairman in Ukpor community. It Was gathered that the Gunmen first k1lled Nnajiofor right in their house when they invaded their home in the wee hours of Monday, after which they bl!ndfolded and abducted Godwin, whom they also eventually k1lled close to Utuh Junction and dümped his corpse in the middle of the road. Tinubu’s Supporters Fight Dirty While Sharing Money In Abuja Supporters of the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu on Wednesday in Abuja engaged in a free-for-all at the International Conference Centre (ICC) following a disagreement that ensued over the sharing formula for the money given to them.   The supporters threw caution to the wind as they engaged one another in a brawl, leading to pandemonium in the area.  Trouble started shortly after the former Secretary to the Government of Federation, Babachir Lawal, who was there to submit nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of Tinubu, left the venue.   The group of supporters, who had positioned themselves at strategic locations at the centre, were given a bail of money which triggered the fight.   One of the supporters was sighted running away with the money as others went after him. He was eventually caught and mercilessly beaten.

U3PS May Soon Become Universities Payroll Portal The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have presented their desired payment platform to the Federal Government. They presented the platform, known as University Peculiar Payroll Payment System (U3PS), to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, in Abuja on Tuesday. The non academic unions, like their sister union, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), had rejected the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) introduced by the Federal Government for the payment of workers’ salaries. Speaking, the SSANU President, Comrade Mohammed Ibrahim, said the platform, if approved, would capture all stakeholders in the university system including academic, non academic staff, and academic technologists.
