 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. THE LOWEST DEGREE ''PASS'',OBTAINED IN A UNIVERSITY,HAS NOW BEEN ABOLISHED BY THE N.U.C.

                   According to sources,the National Universities Commission {NUC} has abolished the Award of Pass Degree in Nigerian Universities with the effect from the 2013/2014 academic session.Today wednesday the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto,Prof Abdullahi Zuru,confirmed the rumors/ made the disclosure at 2014/2015 matriculation of 4,133 students of the institution.He said ''This has far reaching implications on the grading system of students in the universities.This means that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities will now be 45 percent,that is,D-grade,instead of the previous 40 percent which was E-grade.It also means that the minimum class of Degree to be earned by students will now be Third class''.

200 BOKO HARAM MILITANTS,KILLED BY CHAD ARMY YESTERDAY.

                          Yesterday tuesday,Chad army killed more than 200 Boko Haram militants,and Chad also lost nine soldiers.Chad's army destroyed more than a dozen vehicles equipped with heavy weapons and some 100 motorcycles used by the militants in battles in the towns of Gambaru and Ngala.Militants also attacked the town of Fotokol in Cameroon today wednesday in the latest cross border incursion by the group,which operates near Nigeria's frontiers with Niger,Chad and Cameroon.The fighters attacked at around 5:am after the Chadian troops who were temporarily based there crossed over to Gambaru on tuesday.The Cameroon Information Minister Issa Tchiroma said through a telephone conversation to a pressman that ''The insurgents have been driven out.They tried to surprise us because the Chadian troops who were in Fotokol had crossed over to Nigeria''.
