 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. THE LOWEST DEGREE ''PASS'',OBTAINED IN A UNIVERSITY,HAS NOW BEEN ABOLISHED BY THE N.U.C.

                   According to sources,the National Universities Commission {NUC} has abolished the Award of Pass Degree in Nigerian Universities with the effect from the 2013/2014 academic session.Today wednesday the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto,Prof Abdullahi Zuru,confirmed the rumors/ made the disclosure at 2014/2015 matriculation of 4,133 students of the institution.He said ''This has far reaching implications on the grading system of students in the universities.This means that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities will now be 45 percent,that is,D-grade,instead of the previous 40 percent which was E-grade.It also means that the minimum class of Degree to be earned by students will now be Third class''.

                          Yesterday tuesday,Chad army killed more than 200 Boko Haram militants,and Chad also lost nine soldiers.Chad's army destroyed more than a dozen vehicles equipped with heavy weapons and some 100 motorcycles used by the militants in battles in the towns of Gambaru and Ngala.Militants also attacked the town of Fotokol in Cameroon today wednesday in the latest cross border incursion by the group,which operates near Nigeria's frontiers with Niger,Chad and Cameroon.The fighters attacked at around 5:am after the Chadian troops who were temporarily based there crossed over to Gambaru on tuesday.The Cameroon Information Minister Issa Tchiroma said through a telephone conversation to a pressman that ''The insurgents have been driven out.They tried to surprise us because the Chadian troops who were in Fotokol had crossed over to Nigeria''.
