 South Korea and Ghana to expand cooperation on climate, tech and maritime security South Korean President Lee Jae Myung held summit talks on Wednesday with Ghanaian President John ‌Mahama, agreeing to deepen cooperation in climate, digital innovation and maritime security, Reuters reported. The two ​leaders witnessed the signing of three ​agreements, including a climate-change cooperation accord, ⁠a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on ​technology and digital innovation, and a ​separate maritime safety and security MOU between the Korea Coast Guard and the Ghana Navy. Lee ​thanked Ghana’s navy for protecting ​South Korean nationals in the Gulf of Guinea ‌and ⁠said the new maritime pact would strengthen coordinated policing. Mahama said Ghana holds significant reserves of bauxite, manganese, gold, ​lithium and ​nickel, ⁠and hopes to partner with South Korea to jointly ​explore the resources and strengthen ​value-chain ⁠cooperation. THE LOWEST DEGREE ''PASS'',OBTAINED IN A UNIVERSITY,HAS NOW BEEN ABOLISHED BY THE N.U.C.

                   According to sources,the National Universities Commission {NUC} has abolished the Award of Pass Degree in Nigerian Universities with the effect from the 2013/2014 academic session.Today wednesday the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto,Prof Abdullahi Zuru,confirmed the rumors/ made the disclosure at 2014/2015 matriculation of 4,133 students of the institution.He said ''This has far reaching implications on the grading system of students in the universities.This means that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities will now be 45 percent,that is,D-grade,instead of the previous 40 percent which was E-grade.It also means that the minimum class of Degree to be earned by students will now be Third class''.

                          Yesterday tuesday,Chad army killed more than 200 Boko Haram militants,and Chad also lost nine soldiers.Chad's army destroyed more than a dozen vehicles equipped with heavy weapons and some 100 motorcycles used by the militants in battles in the towns of Gambaru and Ngala.Militants also attacked the town of Fotokol in Cameroon today wednesday in the latest cross border incursion by the group,which operates near Nigeria's frontiers with Niger,Chad and Cameroon.The fighters attacked at around 5:am after the Chadian troops who were temporarily based there crossed over to Gambaru on tuesday.The Cameroon Information Minister Issa Tchiroma said through a telephone conversation to a pressman that ''The insurgents have been driven out.They tried to surprise us because the Chadian troops who were in Fotokol had crossed over to Nigeria''.
