      Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, July 24, 2020, convicted and sentenced two oil bunkerers, Christopher Okosun and Aboyowa Esuku to one year imprisonment, for illegal dealing in petroleum product. The convicts, Okosun and Esuku were arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and illegal dea ling in petroleum products.       Following the incessant killings recorded in Kaduna state, hundreds of naked women from the Southern part of the state reportedly stormed the streets naked to protest the killings on Thursday, July 23. The women wore black clothes in the protest and ended the protest at the palace of Atak Njei, Agwamatyap Palace (Sarkin Atyap palace) of Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State. It was also learned that the visibly angry and frustrated women who were naked wept profusely and lamented that the continued killings have taken away their breadwinners, parents, sisters, brothers, husbands, and children.The women added that the majority of them have become widows due to the killings.More photos below.

The convicts were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on one-count seperate charge bordering on illegal dealing in petroleum products, contrary to Section 1 (17) (a) of the Miscellaneous offences Act, CAP P17 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria of (Revised Edition) 2004, and punishable under Section 1 (17 ) (b) of the same Act.      Justice Demi-Ajayi of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State has convicted and sentenced Osawaru Samson to two years imprisonment, with an option of fine of N1,000,000( One Million Naira only). Samson was arraigned by the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two count charge bordering on impersonation. One of the counts read: "That you Osawaru Samson on or about the 6th day of May, 2019 at Benin City, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court fraudulently impersonated Kennedy Lucas and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the Cybercrimes (prohibition prevention, etc) Act, 2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of the same Act. Samson pleaded guilty to the charges when they were read to him. In view of his plea, prosecution counsel, M. Funkeye prayed the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly. Warns Against Patronage of Unauthorised Health Facilities The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has reiterated that the use of Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) Kits for COVID-19 testing in Lagos remains illegal until the State can validate that the kits actually work. Abayomi stated this today at a news briefing on COVID-19Lagos Response, explaining that RDT kits have a very high risk of giving false positive or negative results which could be traumatising for citizens. “In the event that a false-positive result is given, a potentially negative person will be subjected to trauma, isolation and treatment like a positive patient. And in the event that a false negative is given, a potentially positive person is allowed to continue to roam freely in the community regardless of his positive status and as a result, the use of RDT kits is illegal until Lagos State can validate RDT kits that actually work”, he insisted.
