 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

BOXING-CHAMPION MOHAMMED ALI IS ON LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE,AS DOCTORS WARNED HIS END MIGHT BE NEAR.

                     According to sources,the children of Boxing star Mohammed Ali have  rushed to be at his bedside as doctors treating the former heavy-weigh champion have told them they fear he ''Is near the end''.Already four of the 74 year old's nine children,including daughter Laila,Hana and Maryum,are at the hospital in the Phoenix area where medics continue to fight a breathing problem picked up by the star.The childremn flew in last night from around the US as doctors said the future survival of Mohammed Ali was ''Uncertain.Although there was discussions about transporting him to another area of the hospital,sources claimed doctors decided the move ''potentially could be deadly'' and the transfer was called off.Sources close to the star say Ali's battle with his respiratory problem has been complicated by the Parkinson's that he was diagnosed with in the 1980s.More photos below.

3 BOKO HARAM KILLED,1 ARRESTED BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY YESTERDAY AT SABSAWA BOARDING ROAD.{PHOTOS}.

                        The troops of 202 Battalion of 21 Brigade in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have ambushed Boko Haram elements in which they killed 3 and arrested one of the terrorists at Sabsawa-Boarding road and BOCOBS-Ngurusoye road on between 1-2nd June 2016.The captured Boko Haram terrorist,Umar Mustapha,who claimed to have come from Sabsawa,has been handed over to the Brigade Headquarters for further interrogation and processing.The troops have continued with their clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists within the Sambisa forest.In a related development,earlier this morning,troops of 112 Battalion on patrol from Mafa to Dikwa were ambushed at Ajiri village by Boko Haram terrorists.Although they successfully cleared the ambush,one soldier died in the process,an officer and 3 soldiers sustained various degrees of injury.One of the civilian JTF accompanying the patrol team was also injured.The team killed 8 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition

                          On wednesday 25th May 2016 the president of the Nigeria Bar of Association Augustine Alegeh {SAN} and the members of NBA National Exco inaugurated the Nigeria Police Lawyers Forum at Transcorp Hilton Abuja.At the inauguration,the NBA President swore in the officers and the council members of the Police Lawyers Forum.On the same date,the Inspector General of Police IGP Solomon E. Arase fdc,NPM treated the members of the Forum,NBA EXCO,some retired members of the forum and some serving senior police officers to a dinner and award night at AES Luxury Hotel Jabi Abuja.More photos below.

NIGERIAN ARMY,AMBUSHED & KILLED SOME BANDITS IN KUBAU KADUNA TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

                                                         Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army involved in Operation SHARAN DAJI,along with other security agencies,today ambushed suspected armed bandits that wreck havoc on some communities in Kubau Local Government Area,Kaduna State.At the ambush the troops were able to kill 3 notorious armed bandits,recovered 3 Locally Made Pistols,1 Dane Gun 1 J5 Bus with registration number KMC 33 YE KANO and a Driving License.Similarly,today also the troops conducted a clearing operation around Kurmin Dande in Chikun Local Governmnt Area of Kaduna State,During the clearance,they arrested 1 suspected cattle rustler who is undergoing interrogation.The troops have also intensified patrols at Madachi general are in Katsina state.In addition,they have been meeting with heads of the local vigilantes within the 10 Local Government Areas in the State where cattle rustling and armed banditry seems prevalent in order to synergize efforts.-Colonel Sani Kuukashek

                The President of Turkey Rajip Dayyip Erdogan alonside Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud officially inaugurated the newly constructed Turkish embassy in the Somalia capital city Mogadishu today friday.The Turkish embassy in Mogadishu is said to be the biggest Turkish embassy in Africa,this is a third visit for the Turkish President in the war ravaged East African country.More photos below.

LAGOS STATE,TO MAKE TEACHING OF YORUBA LANGUAGE COMPULSORY IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

                       As part of efforts to restore lost Yoruba cultural value as well as preserve the custom,language and heritage of the people,the Lagos State Government has expressed its readiness to make the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory in all public schools in the state.The government equally noted that the imposition of western culture and language on Nigerian children has done a lot of damage to the rich local cultural heritage of the people,adding that Yoruba sons and daughter are daily losing the cultural values inherent in their language.Speaking at a stakeholder's forum organised by the Lagos State House of Assembly at Academy Hall,Agidingbi,Ikeja Lagos,Governor Akinwunmi Ambode stated that the teaching of Yoruba Language as a subject in all public schools in the state,from primary to junior secondary schools,would be made compulsory so as to enable the region regain its lost cultural value and enable children to be in tune with the norms and cultural values
