 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. The suspected trafficker, Angela Okechukwu and her collaborators were also arrested.  Speaking, the Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere who frowned at the poor health condition the children who are aged between two and twelve years are subjected to, assured that the state government will continue to crack down on all sorts of illegality and warning all criminal minded individuals to relocate from the...

BOXING-CHAMPION MOHAMMED ALI IS ON LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE,AS DOCTORS WARNED HIS END MIGHT BE NEAR.

                     According to sources,the children of Boxing star Mohammed Ali have  rushed to be at his bedside as doctors treating the former heavy-weigh champion have told them they fear he ''Is near the end''.Already four of the 74 year old's nine children,including daughter Laila,Hana and Maryum,are at the hospital in the Phoenix area where medics continue to fight a breathing problem picked up by the star.The childremn flew in last night from around the US as doctors said the future survival of Mohammed Ali was ''Uncertain.Although there was discussions about transporting him to another area of the hospital,sources claimed doctors decided the move ''potentially could be deadly'' and the transfer was called off.Sources close to the star say Ali's battle with his respiratory problem has been complicated by the Parkinson's that he was diagnosed with in the 1980s.More photos below.           ...

3 BOKO HARAM KILLED,1 ARRESTED BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY YESTERDAY AT SABSAWA BOARDING ROAD.{PHOTOS}.

                        The troops of 202 Battalion of 21 Brigade in Operation LAFIYA DOLE have ambushed Boko Haram elements in which they killed 3 and arrested one of the terrorists at Sabsawa-Boarding road and BOCOBS-Ngurusoye road on between 1-2nd June 2016.The captured Boko Haram terrorist,Umar Mustapha,who claimed to have come from Sabsawa,has been handed over to the Brigade Headquarters for further interrogation and processing.The troops have continued with their clearance operations of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists within the Sambisa forest.In a related development,earlier this morning,troops of 112 Battalion on patrol from Mafa to Dikwa were ambushed at Ajiri village by Boko Haram terrorists.Although they successfully cleared the ambush,one soldier died in the process,an officer and 3 soldiers sustained various degrees of injury.One of the civilian JTF accompanying the patrol team was also injured.The team kille...

                          On wednesday 25th May 2016 the president of the Nigeria Bar of Association Augustine Alegeh {SAN} and the members of NBA National Exco inaugurated the Nigeria Police Lawyers Forum at Transcorp Hilton Abuja.At the inauguration,the NBA President swore in the officers and the council members of the Police Lawyers Forum.On the same date,the Inspector General of Police IGP Solomon E.                 The President of Turkey Rajip Dayyip Erdogan alonside Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud officially inaugurated the newly constructed Turkish embassy in the Somalia capital city Mogadishu today friday.The Turkish embassy in Mogadishu is said to be the biggest Turkish embassy in Africa,this is a third visit for the Turkish President in the war ravaged East African country.More photos below.

LAGOS STATE,TO MAKE TEACHING OF YORUBA LANGUAGE COMPULSORY IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

                       As part of efforts to restore lost Yoruba cultural value as well as preserve the custom,language and heritage of the people,the Lagos State Government has expressed its readiness to make the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory in all public schools in the state.The government equally noted that the imposition of western culture and language on Nigerian children has done a lot of damage to the rich local cultural heritage of the people,adding that Yoruba sons and daughter are daily losing the cultural values inherent in their language.Speaking at a stakeholder's forum organised by the Lagos State House of Assembly at Academy Hall,Agidingbi,Ikeja Lagos,Governor Akinwunmi Ambode stated that the teaching of Yoruba Language as a subject in all public schools in the state,from primary to junior secondary schools,would be made compulsory so as to enable the region regain its lost cultural value and enable chi...
