Ohio Mom arrested after it's revealed she had faked her daughters cancer for financial gain. 41-year-old Pamela Reed has been charged with theft by deception in Noble County, Ohio. These charges come after an investigation initiated by Noble County Sheriff's Department and Children Services. The investigation uncovered the fact that Reed had exaggerated and fabricated her 7-year-old daughter's medical condition in order to receive money from local organizations.  Reed also had set up a Facebook page called, "Our Rae of sunshine- Team Addey Rae." She used this page to give fictitious updates on her daughter's cancer treatments to obtain cash from the public. Pamela Reed is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Supreme Court To Deliver Judgment In Kano Guber Dispute  The Supreme Court will tomorrow, Friday the 12th of January 2024, deliver judgment on the Kano State governorship election dispute between Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna. This is contained in a notice issued by the apex court to all the parties in the suit. Also, the apex court will deliver judgment in six other governorship disputes before it. According to the notice, the court directed that each party should not have more than two lawyers in attendance. A five-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice John Inyang Okoro had in December, last year, listened to the final arguments by the parties concerned and reserved judgment on the Kano case. China has been experimenting with a new deadly coronavirus-like virus that is "100% fatal to mice," it has been revealed.  According to a new paper published on bioRxiv, doctors trained by the Chinese military had made their own version of "pangolin coronavirus" and had given it to a group of mice to see what would happen.  The pangolin animal can get coronavirus, so that is the version experts have used for this experiment, and called it GX_P2V.  The experts found that the four mice given the virus all dramatically lost weight within five days after being infected, started to become "sluggish" and their eyes went white. ‘You Wasted Our Time’ — Supreme Court Slams APC, Affirms PDP’s Eno Akwa Ibom Governor The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Akanimo Udofia, against the election victory of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno. The apex court advised the APC candidate counsel, Hassan Liman, to withdraw his appeal because the findings of the lower courts on his case were based on facts and in order. The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos had affirmed the election of Eno who contested on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform. The appellate court dismissed all the appeals against the governor’s election. The appeal court held that the allegations of certificate forgery were not substantiated. The appellate court also held that the allegations of criminal convictions against the governor had been set aside by a court of law. At the Supreme Court, Hassan Liman, counsel for appellants, appealed against the judgement of the Court of Appeal.

Gov Zulum Signs N358.7 Billion 2024 Appropriation Bill               Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has assented to the 2024 budget of 358.7 billion naira into law. The budget size was increased by eighteen billion naira as passed by the State House of Assembly. Governor Zulum at the event directed heads of agencies and members of the state executive council to strictly comply with the provisions of the appropriation bill while presenting their memos. EFCC Quizzes Eight Suspected Oil Thieves in Port Harcourt   Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigations into the activities of eight suspected oil thieves in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.   The investigations are coming on the heels of the Hand- Over of the suspects to the EFCC by the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Akiama Road, Bonny Island, Port Harcourt on Wednesday,  January 10, 2024.   According to the Navy, the vessel, MV Cabrini, and her eight  crew members were arrested during an operation on Wednesday November 8 2023.
