 Obosi Development Union Backs Dialect Quiz to Preserve Local Language ‎ ‎  ‎By Chiedu Uche Okoye ‎ ‎The President General of the Obosi Development Union (ODU), Barrister  Chimezie Obi, has expressed his support for the upcoming Obosi dialect quiz competition, aimed at preserving the Obosi dialect of the Igbo language from extinction.  ‎ ‎The event, initiated by Pharm. Obi Egbuonye's "Revive Obosi Dialect Project", is scheduled to take place at the Obosi town hall on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. ‎ ‎According to Barr. Obi, the competition will promote the Obosi dialect and contribute to the preservation of the Igbo language. "It will bring together Obosi people who are proficient in the Obosi dialect, enabling younger generations to learn and appreciate their local language," he stated. ‎ ‎Nze Isaac Ejindu, leader of the Uruowulu village team, praised the organizers, including Pharm.                            Today wednesday,former Head of State Shehu Shagari,celebrated his 90th birthday in Sokoto and his birthday attracted the attendance of other former Head of States and our present Head of State,President Ebele Jonathan.During the cutting of the cake,they called the former heads of state for a group photograph,Chief Ernest Shonekan,Gen Ibrahim Babangida,Celebrant F.H.O.S,Shehu Shagari,President Goodluck Jonathan,Gen Yakbu Gowon and Gen Abdusalami Abubakar.Though i didn't see Former presider Olushegun Obasanjo in the group photo but another picture showed him and the celebrant sitting together,gisting and shaking hands.Another picture below shows the former president Shehu Shagari welcoming the Speaker,House of Representatives,Aminu Tambuwal.The birthday is more or less like a re-union.I wish the former Head of State,a happy 90th birthday,and many years to come.More photos below.     ...
