 Osun: Adeleke, Assembly lose as court affirms Justice Ojo as Chief Judge The National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed Justice Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of Osun State. The decision was contained in a judgment delivered by Justice Peters in a suit numbered NICN/IB/62/2023, on Wednesday in Ibadan. The court granted all the reliefs sought by the Osun Chief Judge against the Osun State Government and Osun State House of Assembly, including an order of perpetual injunction restraining both the executive and legislative arms of government from removing her as the number one judicial officer in the state. GUNMEN BOMB ANOTHER POLICE STATION, KILL TWO IN ANAMBRA. (PHOTO).

There is tension and pandemonium in Obosi community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State as gunmen attacked a Police Anti-cult Unit in the community, killing one police officer and a vigilante. The arsonists who came in three unmarked vehicles – Toyota Highlander, one Toyota Sienna and one Toyota Corolla – attacked the police station with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and burnt down some parts of the building. The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident said the police command on receiving information about the attack at about 11 pm on Thursday quickly deployed personnel to the location and engaged the gunmen. According to the police spokesperson, a police officer and a vigilante were unfortunately fatally injured during the gun duel, however, the police recovered the explosives and other dangerous weapons and put out the fire. EFCC Arrests Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Makurdi  Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested Six (6) suspected Internet fraudsters in Makurdi, Benue State.  They were arrested on Friday, February 3, 2023, at their hideout in Makurdi, Benue State, following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud.  The suspects are: Dominic Onea, Daniel Ikwe, Samuel Godwin, John Sule Godwin, David Onaja Egwe and Oche Patrick.  Items recovered from them include: nine mobile phones (9), one Laptop, one Zenith ATM Card, one WiFi set and one laptop charger.  They will be charged to Court as soon as the investigation is concluded. EFCC Grills Actress Over Spraying, Stepping On New Naira Notes  Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigation of Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, an actress and cosmetologist, for allegedly tampering with the redesigned Naira notes, an offcence contrary to Section 21 (5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Act, 2007. Omoseyin was arrested by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Fraud Related Offences Commission, ICPC, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 along Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, following intelligence report. The 31-year-old was arrested after the video of her spraying and stepping on the newly redesigned Naira notes at a party surfaced online. In the viral video, she was also seen flaunting wads of the new Naira notes. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the EFCC on Thursday, February 2, 2023 for further investigations. GUNMEN KILLED A JUDGE IN IMO STATE.(PHOTO).

Gunmen on Thursday murdered Nnaemeka Ugboma, the chairman of Ejemekwuru Customary Court in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State. He was killed by gunmen who operated in motorcycles, while presiding a court session, our correspondent was told by close sources. The incident brought the court sitting to an abrupt end as lawyers, court staff and litigants fled. The killing of the jurist who our correspondent gathered hailed from Nnebukwu community in Oguta LGA caused panic in Ejemekwuru community as natives and residents alike fled their homes. One of the sources said,” The jurist was a law graduate of 1991 set. He was killed in his court while sitting. His killers came with motorcycles. They came into the court, dragged him out and shot him dead and drove off. “His corpse was there as people in court fled.
