  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. It must be be abundantly clarified that this spurious allegation is unfounded and could be absolutely described as a hoax.  Though the NA would not like to elevate such purveyors of disinformation and propaganda, it is expedient to put on record, that in recent times, the activities of IPOB/ESN have undoubtedly assumed a violent dimension. Body of Abducted Customs Officer Found Dead in Ogun as Ejibunu Gives Final Warning to Smugglers The body of a Customs Officer who was allegedly abducted on Tuesday by suspected smugglers in Ogun State has been found. This makes it two officers killed in an ambush. Suspected smugglers on Tuesday, ambushed a Customs patrol team at Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun, and abducted two Customs Officers in the process. The body of one of the officers was found in a river near Fagbohun Village. After hours of search, his rifle was later found a few metres away from the river where the body was dumped.
