 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. Court Grants Ogun Speaker N300m Bail For N2.5bn Fraud  The Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo and two others were on Tuesday remanded in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s custody by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State over alleged N2.475 billion money laundering. Justice Daniel Osiagor ordered that they should be remanded for one week in the EFCC’s custody, adding that if they failed to meet up with the bail condition, they would be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Service. The EFCC on Tuesday arraigned the Speaker over alleged N2.475bn money laundering. Oluomo was arraigned alongside three others who are Oladayo Samuel, Adeyemo Adedeji Taiwo and Adeyanju Amoke (now at large) on 11 counts of conspiracy, forgery, stealing and money laundering preferred against them by the EFCC.

ASUU Rejects 35% Salary Increase For Professors; Wants 100% - Minister  The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu on Tuesday outlined the Federal Government’s efforts to resolve the industrial action embarked upon by Academic Staff Union of Universities on February 14. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Adamu said the government had offered the union a 23.5 percent salary increase “for all category of the workforce in Federal Universities, except for the professorial cadre which will enjoy a 35% upward review.” Adamu said the government had also promised that a sum of N150 billion “shall be provided for in the 2023 Budget as funds for the revitalization of Federal Universities, to be disbursed to the Institutions in the First Quarter of the year.” Also, the government pledged a sum of N50 billion that would be provided “for in the 2023 Budget for the payment of outstanding areas of earned academic allowances, to be paid in the First Quarter of the year.” However, ASUU and three othe

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a suspected female child trafficker who claims to be a Rev. Sister at Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday disclosed this while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. According to him, they searched the woman’s house and rescued fifteen children after receiving credible information on her alleged illegal activities. He said one of the children revealed that he was kidnapped from Bayelsa state and taken to the woman who kept him with other children for sometime before he was sold to a lady who took him to Lagos. Months later the boy was returned to the buyer for being too sharp. The CP also said, another child explained that she and her other two siblings were with their mother at Ada-George when they were kidnapped and brought to the Rev. Sis. Two of the children were later sold and their whereabout still unknown. He stated that another of the rescued kids revealed that

Kaduna: Parents Vow Not To Allow Their Children Resume School As primary and secondary schools resume across Kaduna State, many parents have vowed that their wards will remain at home if necessary security arrangements are not put in place. A circular from Kaduna State Ministry of Education, signed by Adama Yahaya, had ordered both private and public schools in the State to resume on Sunday September 4, 2022. But reacting to the circular, some parents vowed to resist such a move. Resume Or Face Sanctions, Kaduna State University Threatens ASUU The management of Kaduna State University has warned the institution’s branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to resume academic activities or face sanctions. In a circular on Monday, signed by the university’s Registrar, Samuel Manshop, the university said it would invoke section 2(2) of the staff conditions of service if the lecturers failed the comply with the directives of resumption. Anambra: Herdsmen Allegedly Abduct Commuters at Owerre- Ezukala Fulani herdsmen have on 6th September, 2022 allegedly abducted a bus driver and a truck driver at Owerre-Ezukala, Orumba South LGA, boundary between Anambra and Abia State. According to an eyewitness in a video being circulated over the social media, the Herdsmen abducted the bus driver and the tipper driver while shooting sporadically on the air to scare people away. The Herdsmen had also left behind the vehicles of their captives and whisked them away to an unknown location. The eyewitness also stated that during the same operation, the Herdsmen equally abducted another person who owned a black highlander jeep. The whereabout of the kidnapped victims is yet to be ascertained. One more photo below.

Recall that on 3rd September, 2022 a Sex Party was allegedly organized at the poolside of Wintess Garden, a hotel at the permanent site of the institution in Ifite Awka, the participants in the party were seem having sex while people watched and record the porn with their phones. Though the hotel management has come out to deny that such activity happened in their facility, the Students Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka insisted that it happened at Wintess Garden Hotels but said it was not the Students of Unizik.
