The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. JUBILATION AS CROWD RESCUE TRAPPED KEKE RIDER AT OWERRI ROAD BY TARZAN JUNCTION,ONITSHA.(PHOTOS).

Jubilation as Crowd Rescue Trapped Keke Rider at Owerri Road by Tarzan Junction, Onitsha It was a moment of jubilation this morning as crowd unitedly rescued a Keke rider trapped under a fallen vehicle. ABS correspondent Faith Onyemuche who witnessed the scenario reports that a heavy duty vehicle fully loaded with soft drink at about 8:30am this morning fell on a keke rider and wheelbarrow pusher though the barrow pusher managed to escape. People immediately gathered, unloaded the contents which lasted for about 15minutes and luckily rescued the trapped Keke rider. According to the Keke rider who was seen jubilating and thanking the crowd. He was the only one trapped in the keke as the passengers were quick to escape. However some persons took advantage of the situation to cart away some of the items before the intervention of security personnel who helped to curtail the situation. More photos below.

Public Service ANNOUNCEMENT  This is to inform the public that the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has approved 50 percent as the cut off mark for the just concluded examination with respect to the ongoing teachers' recruitment exercise in Anambra State. Candidates who scored 50 percent and above should prepare for another round of the examination on Saturday 18/06/2022. Candidates will only be checked into the examination hall on showing their personal identification cards, National Identification Cards and Voters Cards. Awkuzu Community Road Barricaded, As Flood Blocks Enugu-Onitsha Expressway Major road into Awkuzu community in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra was barricaded this morning, as flood from yesterday's heavy downpour blocked a section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway. The flood, which destroyed property running into millions of naira, most of which belong to artisans, also trapped Police officers at Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State CID Annex, Awkuzu. When ABS arrived the scene, individual efforts were being made to create alternative route for the flood, while motorists plying Otuocha-Awkuzu-OyeAgu Abagana were making a detour. Speaking to the ABS, the Vice President-General of Awkuzu Progressive Union, Chief Onochie Nwotite, Messsrs Ndubisi Nsiegbunam and Obinna Ikedi, who recalled how efforts were made to get the construction company handling the road, called for both Federal and State government's interventions over the development. OKADA BAN: LASG INAUGURATES ENFORCEMENT SQUAD TO COLLABORATE WITH POLICE The Lagos State Government has inaugurated an anti-Okada squad to enforce the ban on commercial motorcycles in six Local Governments and nine Local Council Development Areas. The team will join the Police to maintain the ban in line with the Transport Sector Reform Law (TSRL) 2018. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said the Special anti-Okada Squad will report to the Police and urged the citizenry to collaborate with the State Government to combat the Okada menace across the State. The Commissioner, however, stressed that it is the responsibility of the public to report any nefarious activities of the squad to the Ministry of Transportation or through the help/complaint lines: 09038208154, 09034810153, 09033090826 and 09169655855, adding that such reports will help the government generate feedback to fine-tune strategies for the protection of lives

LAGOS SET TO HOST BODY OF ATTORNEYS-GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION Lagos State is set to host the next meeting of the Body of Attorneys-General of States of the Federation, which will commence from Wednesday 15th to Friday, 17th June, 2022. A statement signed by the Interim Chairman and Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), disclosed that the Attorneys-General forum is a body set up to improve law and order issues uniformly in the 36 States of the Federation. He added that the gathering will also provide a platform for the Attorneys-General to exchange ideas, experiences and build capacity nationwide. According to him, the keynote address will be delivered by the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), while the meeting would be attended by the Attorneys-General of the 36 States of the Federation.

Gunmen Attack Celestial Church, Abduct Two, Demand N50m Ransom In Ogun State  Unknown gunmen on Tuesday attacked a celestial church in Wasimi, Ogun State and abducted two worshippers. According to reports, the gun-wielding men approached Celestial Church of Christ, Oshofa Parish at Ewekoro local government area, a few minutes after midnight. Confirming the unfortunate incident, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, the Shepherd of the church, said the two worshippers; Oluwaseun Ajose and Dagunro Ayobami were dragged away from the church. He added that he was called later and a ransom of N50 million was demanded. “When my Assistant Shepherd called me almost two hours after they left, the kidnappers refused to speak with me twice. But on his third attempt, they spoke with me and demanded N50 million ransom. “I told them that, I am a servant of God, nobody pays me a salary. I have spoken with the Ogun State Commissioner of Police. The command is on the matter.”

Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram Must Delete Porn Posts Within 24 Hours – FG The Federal Government has ordered online interactive platforms, such as Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to ensure that they remove, disable or block access to any non-consensual content, which displays partial or full nudity, sexual acts, deep fake or revenge porn within 24 hours. This order was included in the recently released Code of Practice for Interactive Computer Service Platforms/Internet Intermediaries (online platforms). According to the document, these online platforms have to “act expeditiously to remove, disable, or block access to non-consensual content that exposes a person’s private areas, full or partial nudity, sexual act, or revenge porn, where such content is targeted to harass, disrepute, or intimidate an individual. A Platform must acknowledge the receipt of the complaint and take down the content within 24 hours.” The Code of Practice also directs these platform
