In its report, the Committee alleged that a sum of N5,865,671,939.26 was approved and released in June 2017 vide a Memo raised from the Office of the Acting President, directing the Honourable Minister of Finance and the Accountant General of the Federation to so act. The House Committee also concluded that the payment made was in contravention of approval of the National Assembly. This conclusion is both false and misleading.       The Ondo State House of Assembly has impeached Hon. David Oleyeloogun as its speaker, as well as his deputy, Iroju Ogundeji. Addressing newsmen at the assembly complex on Friday, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Fatai Olotu, said the former leadership was removed as a result of financial impropriety, incompetence and high handedness. Another source also sent in the story with the caption '' The Ondo State Speaker of House of Assembly Bamidele Oloyelogun and his Deputy Speaker, Iroju Ogundeji, were on Friday impeached. LAGOS 'VIS' EXTENDS VEHICLE DOCUMENTS REVALIDATION SERVICES TO WEEKENDS.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) has extended its various services to Saturdays to enable motorists in the State revalidate their vehicle particulars and other services. The Director, Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) in Lagos State, Engr. Gbolahan Toriola stated this today at Ikeja, noting that vehicle owners are mostly busy during the weekdays, hence their inability to obtain the necessar y vehicle particulars as at when due. The director general, Babatunde Irukera, said the warning became necessary after the agency received information that has already gone viral on reported use of sniper chemical by retailers to pres erve beans.Mr Irukera’s warning was contained in a statement sent to Pressmen today Friday. He said consumers must make sufficient enquiries before engaging in new purchases of beans as available information at the weekend revealed retailers have already built a huge stock of commodity.Apart from the cooking method and enquiries before purchase, the council said consumers must wash their food items sufficiently before cooking. “In any and every case, thoroughly washing food items before consumption or preparation for consumption is a generally accepted method of protecting and promoting safety,” the statement said.         The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC yesterday, November 8, 2018 secured the conviction of one Abubakar Ishaq a.k.a Mai-Rakuma who is a renowned spiritualist in Kano. He was convicted by Honourable Justice A. Lewis Allagoa of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano on a two count charge of possession of counterfeit currency. The convict was sentenced to ten years imprisonment on each of counts one an d two which borders on possession of counterfeit currency. Mai-Rakumi’s journey to prison started when the Commission received him from officers of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for being in possession of 176 pieces of Fake United States Dollars during a raid on his apartment.
