                     Today friday morning,it was reported that the Nigerian military has imposed a curfew on the North eastern city of Maiduguri,following an attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters.The attack took place on wednesday.Heavy shooting and explosions were heard on the out skirst of the city,with many fleeing their homes.Residents said they heard heavy shooting and explosions on the outskirts and began fleeing their homes.Maiduguri has become under Boko Haram attacks on Dozens of occasion.The gruop has been relatively quiet recently with the Nigerian army making gains against it's strong hold,the Sambisa forest.Maiduguri has not been attacked since two major takeover attempts in late January and early Febryary and several bombings in march.Several hundred insurgents carried out the latest attack in Maiduguri.The militants were reportedly trying to kidnap a group of women when security forces responded.

               Today thursday,the Lagos state Government has unveiled plans to build modern houses on Makoko waterfront to curb the decay in the ghetto.Commissioner foe Physical Planning and Urban Development,Toyin Ayinde disclosed this at a news conference in Ikeja,Lagos.The housing scheme will be a replica of Lake Union Seattle,in the United States of America where houses are built on water in an organised manner.Toyin Ayinde said that the daily migration of people to the city of Lagos continues to have serious impact on the population and that all aspects of the economy,including the issue of accomodation are affected.''As a result of this,a lot of unplanned settlements and encroachments on both land and water by these immigrants have become a burden.The house built on the Lagos lagoon overtime in the Makoko area continued unabated and soon became worrisome due to the speedy and fast encroachment on this water way and further extension towards ...

                    According to sources,the wife of Nigeria's out going president,Mrs Patience Jonathan is pulling all the necessary strings to stop wife of Nigeria's president elect,Aisha Buhari,from becoming the president of African First Lafies Peace Mission,AFLPM.Now a group of women who are sympathetic towards Aisha Buhari's cause,have decided to fight back on her behalf by going to court to stop Patience Jonathan's plot.The women Deborah Oboh,Ekemma Ugborough Arisa,Nana Module Omwodi and Louisa Ono Ekhomun,filed a suit at an Abuja High Court seeking to restrain Patience Jonathan from holding an emergency meeting of the AFLP,saying the meeting was called in bad faith to scuttle Aisha Buhar's chances of becoming the president of the group.Apart from patience jonathan,other defendants are Kate Duru,Juliet Mene,Sonia Adolf and Juliet Peace.The matter which is before Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf comes up today ahead of the AFLPM emergen...

                   According to a media sources,who was at the scene of the incident said that ''The Federal Secretariat is on fire in Abuja.The Federal Secretariat host many of the administrative offices for the government.The early reports was that the fire began in the Federal Ministry of Education before spreading to nearby locations.The fire fighters in the area responded once they received notification that large blooms of black smoke were bellowing from the complex.There have also been reports that some staff and visitors may have been trapped inside the complex,through no official government statement has been made''.
